    When I had my telehealth appointment with ************************* ** on 2/3/2023, I received a call from the ****** to advise that I cannot speak with the ** until I pay the balance of all copays owed since 2020. The balance I was told was $290. I asked why I was not aware of this since 2020 as I had been there several times since then. She advised that they were initially waiving all copays due to COVID however now that the medical office is suffering with money, that they are now starting to ask patients for copays from the time of COVID. My mom was listening as the ****** was on speaker phone. My mom then advised that we did not know about the copays and find it unfair to ask for money that was waived during COVID. She also stated it was very unprofessional to not see a patient due to money owed that we did not know was owed. When I was able to speak with the **, she kept mentioning how my mom confronted the ****** and really not quit into why I was there for my appointment. Since this issue, myself and family have refused to continue treatment with this medical office. I contacted the insurance company and they also do not understand why copays are being collected from three years ago. I advised that I would also file a complaint with the **** I don't feel it is fair to have to pay copays that I was not aware of and were advised they were waived. I feel I just pay the last copay for my last appointment. I tried to reach out to ************************ himself to no avail. I was questioned about my insurance as I have a different last name as my mother as they continued to use a different last name other than mine.
