Last year (1923) I took my fox terrier there because I found a small lump/tumor under her front leg. The vet said it was not cancer and to leave it alone. I asked him what it would cost to remove it if it grew larger and he quoted me $700-$800+!!! They took an X-ray and charged $80+ for a visit of 30 minutes. As of now, it is double in size but vet bills are ridiculous compared to MY medical bills!Review from Mrs. M

Since NVA, a private equity group, purchased ******************************** in *********, **, the prices that are charged have skyrocketed. For example, in the last 24 months, the price for a basic dental cleaning package for my dog has increased over $80. Also, the top vet in the practice -who had been there many years- left for another clinic, and there is so much turnover with staff that the minute you get to know the name of one person then they're gone. As is typic of private equity groups, their only loyalty is to making money for themselves and their shareholders. That is lethal to a veterinary clinic who is supposed to be dedicated to the care of its patients. Today, this private equity group emailed us clients they they are changing their mobile app -again- this time to one that no longer offers loyalty points which are critical for many of us trying to pay the super high fees they charge. This PE ownership is ruining the best veterinary clinic I've ever taken my dogs to and depriving our community of quality care for our pets. My advice to pet owners, based on my experience-- any NVA-owned veterinary clinic like the plague.Review from Ak B

NVA owned clinics violate the **** They fired my daughter telling her "she just didn't fit" and to "get her mental health in order". She has anxiety and depression. They pick and choose the kind of people they want. It's been my experience that the animals don't like any of them except my child. Why else would they call her in continuously handle "difficult animals"?Review from DIANE M

From ****** ******. Since NVA took over our one clinic quality of care is questionable. Prices are unaffordable. And now the only vet here is doing travel medicine. Leaving no vet here for our pets. It is not ok to leave the clinic with techs to handle sick animals and emergencies. NVA has been aware of this and has no solution. This is an island and if your animal is hurt or sick you have to figure out how to stabilize and transport via alaska airlines to *********. NOT OK ALSO WOULD RATE 0 STARSReview from Ashley C

If I could put no stars I would. They do not care for their employees or customers. I worked in a facility that was bought out by nva and after they took over it was horrible. They brought new people in at 16 but wouldnt give the employees that had been killing themselves anything until this April. I was talked into doing the dog training, had no one to work with like everyone else, had no one to do a shadow week with so I couldnt fully get certified, they were charging ******************************** the same rate. I did not get a raise I was actually threatened that my extra dollar that I had earned as a supervisor after three months of employment would be taken. If you threaten to go above your manager they will find a way to fire you and they actually call HR to figure out how to do so. I was fired for reporting an issue with a manager and they person above them could care less when I reported it to them. They absolutely put profits over people, their revenue was 3.6 billion last year and they pay the people that literally run their business next to nothing, not even a livable wage. Do yourself a favor and find anywhere else to work its not worth the headache. After working here it literally changed how I see things.Review from Eric V

Greed and ineptitude at the top is sending veterinarians and other staff at the bottom running for the hills. No wonder turnover is so high. Company needs to do some real soul searching. Whats more important, how big the margins are or maintaining and improving the veterinary field? Because what they are doing is moving the field backwards.Review from Previousvet A

I don't even know where to begin with the negatives of working for NVA. The biggest thing to point out first is the separation between NVA and the local clinic. I loved my staff and doctors at the clinic I worked for but anything to do with NVA was negative. I worked under many different upper management members and they were all the same. Everyone was all talk and no follow through. I was mislead about the position I was hired for. The clinic then was closed within a year. At that time, I was told I would be able to choose between two other NVA clinics in the area. That also was a lie. At the new location, we were told numerous times that we could have building upgrades and even were taken to new locations to look at new sites. Also all lies. The building has a leaking roof and now mold. All we have been told for months is that it is "with the lawyers." Emails to upper management are repeatedly ignored. Despite giving all I have to a clinic, NVA has never shown that they care about those on the clinic level. It is hurtful and I refused to be associated with NVA any longer.Review from Steven B

My puppy ate a grape ,which I guess can be toxic even in small amounts. Couldn't get my vet on phone....phone system out.....called this place, they said that she should probably be induced to vomit. Took her there. Literally took longer to fill out on line registration than it took to get there. Went to door and they let me in and told me they didn't have my registration I would have to do it over. Had me sit in a entry way .....floor was disturbingly dirty for a hospital ! Then they said they now had my registration and put a leach on my pup and the girl said " go home" for a couple hours.I said she needs to throw up and she said we will get to her but we have critical animals and only one vet. I asked if I could stay she said yes and took her away without another word. I looked into the office and half the lights were out and it looked dark and dreary and just as dirty as the lobby. It said no entrance but I walked to desk and told them I wanted my dog back now. I felt if I left her I might not see her alive again. They brought her out and I told them how dirty I thought it was and they said they were doing the best they could and they asked me to leave because I was abusing the staff ?????? I left running with my pooch ! Saw another bet in the next hour!

Hello ******,
Thank you for providing feedback regarding your visit. I'm so sorry that you left disappointed. We certainly do try to keep our hospital as sanitary as possible especially in light of COVD and are disheartened to hear that you found it to be otherwise. We are slated for a remodel but unfortunately due to the high level of business we have been experiencing it is something we are not able to move forward with at this time until business levels allow for it. Our floors are noticeably stained but I can assure you they are clean. We have regular disinfection protocols specific to certain areas. You are correct that clients are not supposed to enter the building with the exception of family members being present with their beloved pets during euthanasia. Because clients are not regularly supposed to be in the building, we do allow the staff to keep the office lights at a dim level if they so desire as it helps with the stressors of the job. I'm sorry we failed to clearly communicate to you that the very time sensitive portion of your dog's visit (induction of vomiting) would have been performed immediately, however our staff was correct in instructing you to go home as the visit in its entirety could last multiple hours. In regards to you being asked to leave the premises for abusing the staff, I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to speak with you further regarding this but I do not have any account or contact information for you. Our staff is trained that they are able to ask clients to leave in the event that they are being treated very disrespectfully or in a threatening manner but without speaking to you I am unable to investigate this further. Again, I'm so sorry for the disappointments you experienced in our hospital and are glad to hear that your fur baby was able to receive care elsewhere.
Sincerely
Amanda, Medical Operations Assistant Manager
