Republic services is enforcing me to pay additional rate hikes as they divide it equally with all apartments. I am a single person in one apartment when all others but 3 of us here are multiple people (up to 10 people in one apartment) residing in 2+3 bedroom apartments. I contested the rate hike and yet they do not care about my fixed income. The supervisor just suggested that I should pay my **** which is more than $50 a billing cycle now. When I moved into this apartment 9 years ago it was not even $24 per billing cycle. He suggested I pay this **** or services will be disrupted. I feel we the residents are being extorted to pay higher amounts as most residents do not realize we must fight to make this wrong a right. They refuse to audit how many tenants there is in a unit "because it's too much work for them to figure it out" but yet will attempt to enforce their rules and rate hikes once a year. My electric **** is $49 per billing cycle and this republic services thinks they are going to enforce me to pay $51 per billing cycle. I am asking everyone who lives in ******* and deals with ******* utilities and this republic services to file a formal complaint with the BBB and any other agency that has the power to stop this company from ripping us off. In December of 2021 during Christmas time they went on strike and left our alley ways trashed up due to no pick-up and it took 3 wks for them to finally get the remaining extra trash out of our alleyway and in the meantime they enforced payment for 3 billing cycles before we actually got a one week credit (not 2 weeks). They made us pay those workers on strike to make sure they were paid. NOT OUR PROBLEM! NEITHER IS IT OUR PROBLEM TO PAY AN OVERINFLATED COST FOR OTHER APARTMENTS THAT HAVE NUMEROUS AMOUNTS OF PEOPLE LIVING IN THEM. if they disrupt my electric services then I'll have to file with the disability act since I do not own a car and I use an electric scooter to get around.
