On 4/28/2024, ***** the owner of Recreational Storage made me aware of a rent increase because of overhead costs related to running the yard. ***** then said that if I could haul her broken down golf cart for her then she would not raise my space rent... I told her I was not going to haul her golf cart for liability reasons and that I felt offended and uncomfortable to be put in that position (for background I privately own my trailer its for recreation use only). I then told her that I was surprised the rent was going up since I had only been there for 6 months. ***** then told me that I was only given my current rate as a favor and that it is way below market compared to others. ***** is doing a bait and switch on her pricing in order to get spots filled then increasing the rates on them after a short amount of time. When confronted on trying to extort me and on her bait and switch pricing she became very agitated and confrontational, claiming that I am in the wrong and that she's the one doing me a favor which is just not true. ***** eluded that if I was not going to help her that she would be "offering" the same deal to others in the yard, essentially if you do not agree to help her then your rate will go up. I don't believe there is any restitution for me but I am hoping the BBB can confront her and possibly spread awareness of this business and their unethical business practices.
