Had an ** visit in mid-Dec 2023 and in Apr 2024 starting getting text messages from some billing outfit I didn't recognize saying I owed $249.90 for the ** doctor billing of $2,499.00. However, all insurance EOB's clearly showed that the provider was an in-network provider and the billing had been paid in full to the in-network agreed costs. Kept getting text reminders which to me is NOT a legitimate way to bill for medical; never a paper bill until early May showing that outstanding balance. I reached out to my insurance who on 5 different occasions have tried to call their billing number on the paper statement only to be told that wait times are in excess of an hour or more. Got another text message on 5/12/23 saying that I had less than a month to pay or going to collections. Pulled up this outfit on the BBB and see that others are experiencing the same so why I'm contacting w/ my issue as this seems to be a possible scam.

I've received multiple bills from "erstatement.com," claiming that we owe $97.50 for my son's hospital visit, which was three years ago. I've called the hospital directly and they said that we do not have a remaining balance. I've made multiple attempts to call the customer service phone number for "erstatememt.com," but no one answers, or they answer and then hang up immediately. Another red flag is that their email address is "erstatement.org" but their website is "erstatement.com."

On 3/5/23, my husband visited the emergency room at ******************* in **********, **. We received a bill in October for the ****************. Our insurance shows that the bill was already paid in April (triple checked). The third party ******, erstatements, refuses to investigate as they are an inbound call center only. Our insurance requested that they call them, and erstatements has refused and we just received our final notice. We have spent hours and hours on the phone with this company. If they are a billing company, then they need to provide billing services. Its unethical what they are doing.

This is a highly questionable company/website. I was billed a physicians fee by ******* ******************** Services after a recent visit to the *** It is very difficult to get a hold of a customer service representative. The wait times average 45 minutes. I paid my outstanding balance online through their payment portal and still received another bill several weeks later for the same amount and service. There was only one claim filed with my insurance company. The online payment portal uses a .com address and their email is a .org. Their only address is a PO Box in ***********, **. Please verify any claims filed with your insurance provider before you give these people your money. While the claims filed are legitimate, there are a lot of red flags when dealing with this website.
