BUYER BEWARE!!! I have been importing machines - spices and herbs from ***** for over five years as a wholesale importer. I traditionally deal directly with forwarding companies but several of my shipments I've had sunny international as the trucking logistics company. For one of my largest shipments, I reached out to them for a quote. The quote arrived very similar to everybody else that had presented us with a $2100 cost. When my shipment landed I was invoiced $4300. When I questioned the quote I was told the quote was broken down into codes that meant the final weight was taken and x's that rate.
I had told ***** international that this was my first time dealing with them without a forward
I also asked question, after question if there were any additional fees. The answer was no
BE VERY CAREFUL - it was a very fraudulent way to get my business for this shipment and cost double what everybody else was.
They all stated that it's very common practice for the quote to come in, for example with a truck fee of five dollars and a code next to it that means that five dollars is times your shipment weight which brought it to $250. Imagine 10 of those.
Buyer beware - I would stick directly to forwarders in ***** - their prices are direct
************ completely took me for a ride and literally cost double what every single other foreign company was charging for no reason at all. I know better now and will not be doing business with them in the future which is sad because I thought I would develop a more local relationship and bring them continuous business.
MY BAD - I believe what goes around comes around. The fact that they knew this was my first time using their company they should've known that I would have had no ideas what the codes meant. When they said that they had no idea what the shipment weight was well the shipment weight was put onto the boat with them knowing the way so that makes no sense. My cost of goods doubles bc of this - TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE
