My mother, aged 71, was scammed into purchasing XenWater supplements with the promise to improve her health. They are selling vials of literally water with absorbic acid, which is essentially just water with a very light taste of sourness, for an absurd amount ($760 for a box of vials that is good for 2 weeks of doses). The vendor asks to make the purchases using cash only along with selling pressure tactics to force the sale (and renewals for more at a later time). My mother has spent about $2,000 in total cash and credit credit card over multiple visits and only until she has depleted all of her cash that the vendor asked for her credit card to keep the continue purchases, which is how this scam was alerted due to the paper trail on her credit card bill. This vendor is doing sales via a physical storefront in person. When they were confronted for refunds, they refused and we were only able to file a chargeback for the amounts posted on her credit card. Unfortuntely, the credit card purchases were a minority of the total amount scammed. This vendor is knowingly scamming the vulnerable elderly with fictitious products and they need to stop. Feel free to reach out to me for more information as necessary to put this to an end.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/11/21) */ To Whom It May Concern: Xen Water (containing Structured Water Particles), far from being "just water with a very light taste of sourness," as stated in the complaint -- is the result of many decades of research by ***************, an internationally renowned physicist. Through the use of an atomic force microscope, ****** ultimately discovered a fourth state of water that has profound properties that can be helpful in improving health. As a result, his work is studied and used in prestigious universities around the world. And he has received approximately 18 U.S. patents on the water thus far. ****** makes no claims that the Xen Water can be used as an alternative healing modality. People who choose to use the Xen Water do so as part of their own research in improving their state of well-being. To better understand who ****** is, and the puruity of the Xen Water product, please see this article on-line: 'Water: The Mater of Matter,' at the following URL: ******************************************************* Explanation of the Process: As you will read in the article, the impact of the water on a person's body can be observed through the use of expensive thermographic technology. On the initial visit, ******'s assistant takes 360º full-body thermograms of the patient to detect areas of inflammation, which are associated with compromised states of health. The patient is then offered a very small amount of the Zen Water. And 15-minutes after drinking it, a second set of thermograms is taken. In many instances, the reduction in inflammation that results from drinking the little bit of water is highly visible and significant. It is on this basis that patients, like **. ******, decide to purchase enough water to drink 2-oz daily over a period of time on a self-initiated experimental basis. It is made very clear to them that reduction in inflammation and improvements in their state of well-being are neither instantaneous nor dramatic. Generally, they occur over time and can be observed through subsequent thermograms. Though mproved states of health may ultimately be experienced, no guarantees are ever made. Given that **. ******'s son, *********, who initiated the complaint, has not met ****** and has no understanding whatsoever of the technology behind the water and its long and esteemed history, it is understandable that he made the erroneous assumption that his mother had been deceived and robbed. Nothing could be further from the truth. Details of the Transactions: **. ****** visited ****** on three occasions: 9/12/22: She received two-sets of thermograms -- 12 before and 12 after imbibing the water. She also received an hour of consultation time with ******, who interpreted the images for her and explained how the Xen Water works on the body. We observed her to be perfectly capable of making reasonable choices -- rather than suffering from impaired mental abilities that sometimes afflict older people as the complaint seems to infer. The patient chose to purchase $760 worth of water 28 bottles at $25 a bottle + $60 1 bottle of eye drop. 9/13/22: **. ****** returned to ******'s office, requesting a refund of $760 on her credit card so that she could pay, instead, in cash. We fulfilled her request. 9/26/2022: **. ****** came back for her follow-up appointment and took another set of 12 images. ****** spent 30-minutes with her to interpret the images and point out the reduction in inflammation in certain key areas. **. ****** spent $700, as shown in exhibit 2. Later that day she asked if we could refund $300 on her charge card in exchange for cash and we gladly complied, see exhibit 3. 10/11/2022: **. ****** came back FOR her third follow-up visit and again we took 12 thermographic images and discussed her progress with her. She spent $625 cash, exhibit 4. 10/20/2022: **. ****** came to our office and asked for the full return of the $625. We gladly refund the money in Cash, see exhibit 5.
