    I applied for Family Home Care and was contacted by Renee for a job that was 48 hours straight pay of $14.00 and hour. Minimum wage is California is $15.00 but I accepted the job as it was 48 hours and one person on the weekends only. I adjusted my schedule and turned down other jobs that may have interfered with the 48 hour job. The woman I talked to over the phone guaranteed and promised me this job twice and said all of the hiring process could be done remotely. Every day soon afterwards she introduced something new that I had to do and I complied with everything. I did not understand why she could not just present it all at one time so I could complete everything in a timely manner. For example she went back on her statement that the whole hiring process could be completed remotely. She wanted me to take a test that she stated could only be done at the office out of town and far away from where I lived (I do not drive) but she did email it to me and the test appeared specifically made to do online(indeed the company sells that approach (Lie #1) then she told me later that the she was not in charge of scheduling and that I would not have the 48 hour shift - it appeared I would be band - aid / walk in should some one call in sick - as there were other people already there working and that it was up to staffing schedulers and not her. (lie #2)Then she said they were going to have a big meeting about it - so I was somehow expected to sit at the edge of my seat and await the results of this crisis of her own creation? She knowingly lied to me and attempted to fast talk me and cover over that lie. I was upset that I had turned down other jobs as a result of that lie and wondered what kind of a sick and twisted individual would do that to a complete stranger. I gave her all my personal information with the understanding that I had a job awaiting me. and that turned out to be a big lie purposely done as a cheap form of hustling me to fill in for other shifts and maybe once in a while to fill in for if someone calls in sick. So I left a voice mail with her boss and said told her " your fired!" if I cant trust my employer to be straight up with me then I should not be working with low standard companies.
