    When I came in I told both his son and owner, D** ******, that I wanted flooring for my covered patio. This picture shows price it was marked the first time his son showed the flooring to me and also when I came in later (after we pulled up old carpeting) and tried to get him to sell it to me at price that was listed on the flooring...but he refused and charged me more. The tag says $3.59 but charged $4.29 per sft. I really liked this flooring and my friend knew the owner so I went ahead and paid more. I am injured from an auto accident and have nerve pain in legs and feet especially..hard to get out..so that is another reason I just stayed with this flooring although more than I had wanted to spend for just my patio. (CA Pricetag Law says owner can be fined up to $1,000 and go to jail for a year) When I called to tell him that the flooring company told me to have him fill out a claim D** ****** said: It's not a defective product and you didn't have a professional installer put it in so it's not returnable. The humidity outside is probably what caused separation. It's an interior flooring not for outside. You bought the wrong flooring. He did not tell me this when I was wanting to buy it. Neither did his son. I had asked if this flooring would work for a covered patio. Mentioning it would be for my covered patio is one of the first things I told his son and also the owner when I talked with them trying to choose what flooring I would buy that I liked. The customer service woman at Johnson Hardwood told me he should not have sold me this interior floor for my covered patio. On call D** ****** told me it could be super glued to try to fix separation but internet says it is not suppose to be glued down. He blamed me for buying the wrong flooring but he never should have sold me interior flooring knowing how I was going to use it..not inside my home. He told me to buy extra and he knew I was going to put it on my steps if I had any pieces left over. Before I bought it he talked about rain..it is waterproof and does not get rain water on patio but never mentioned other climate or sun. Never mentioned not for outside. I trusted him just seeing a sample in his shop. I was not given a pamphlet or anything to read. On phone, Don sounded angry and started putting me down saying he knew people like me that I just want to get pity and get things for free. He said his wife and others cleaned my home (several years ago) for free..that I did not pay them! That was very nice of church people to do for me since I have nerve pain in legs and feet, back and hands since truck totaled my car in 2006. I would have paid them but they were being very kind to me. It was their gift to me. That was very humbling for me to have people come into my home. I always thought how kind and loving of them. And he threw it up to me like his wife had held a grudge doing it or he was mad she did it? But that had Nothing to do with ordering my floors. Very mean to me with put down statements as if I was the scum of the earth and not a good person, not caring that I am in daily pain and i was very sick with Covid the day I called. Don acted like I knew it was wrong and ordered it anyway. He never told me it was wrong and should not have taken any money if it was not for a covered patio. I used him because I thought he was a Christian, my friend putting in flooring goes to same church and knows him. He seemed like he had resentments and preconceived ideas about me and had I known this I would not have bought there. His son was very nice and he acted nice to me when I met him at his shop. Very negative, mean and unfriendly when I called him blaming me for the price he was charged by the company to ship it to him and that he did not make much money on the sale. That is not my fault. I was charged $115 for shipping..Home Depot is free. He was mad that I tried to get him to charge me the price tag cost. He said since Tim my friend put it in there is no warranty. He said he did not put flooring in. I said I did not even know you do that and he said you wouldn't have paid it! Like he knew what I could afford. Very condescending! I told him what the customer service lady told me to call him and he should file a claim and he said the product was not defective and that he would not file a claim. After all his awful words I told him what he said about me was not true, that he was very mean and hung up on him. He did not know me at all and yet he felt it was okay to shred my character, say I am lying about being hurt and bully me. Many people are blind to how difficult and challenging being handicapped is. He did not know just standing in his shop hurt my feet and legs! I did not deserve his abusive treatment. It had nothing to do with the flooring problem. Since I felt worse that day with Covid he brought me to tears. I let Johnson Hardwood know he would not file a claim and they wanted me to fill out forms..they would start the claim. I still was sick with Covid and felt stuck! I knew what D** ****** did was not right. Just decided to dispute charge with my credit card company. I have a few emails I wrote to Johnson Hardwood and they wrote back if you want those. I paid for flooring end of March..took a while to come in. Tim could not put it in until end of April. He picked up the boxes from Hanson's shop about a week before he put it in. I started noticing the separation end of June..just 2 months after..it looked so nice when he put it in! I will send pictures of separation. Even if these are fixed more splits may come later and with winter coming I do not know what will happen. I thought vinyl flooring did not change with temperature changes. This flooring is waterproof and called premium..very strong so I thought.
