I went to Castle Eye Clinic for a routine eye exam, my routine exams are covered at 100%. The clinic did a test which I was not informed was not routine and now charging me for it $39.00. I called billing which told me I have to talk to the Eye Clinic about charge, you can't get anyone to answer I have called and sat on hold numerus times, it says you are # 3 in line etc. wait like 20 mins+ then it will go to a full voice mail. I have went to this clinic for the last 3 year for routine exams and they haven't charged me for this before, my insurance is the same and hasn't change.Business response

After looking into patients account and speaking with optical, they are taking pictures of all patients eyes, they do this at every visit. The issue here is the way it was billed, per DR. **** it could be billed in a few ways to avoid a coinsurance for the patient. I have adjusted the balance off so patient will not owe anything. I attempted to call her however, her answering machine memory is full. I did make notes in her account as well.
