May 3rd, I took my car to **** Auto Center. My AC was blowing warm air and sometimes cool air. He said it needed a new compressor, estimated at $750. May 4th the shop installed it and I paid $829.70, I turned on my AC before driving off. It wasn't cooling. They rechecked it and at 1:15 p.m. they said there was nothing wrong. I drive down the street almost 2 miles then I noticed that the AC was not cooling and my temperature gauge was increasing. The RED thermometer icon had lit up. I called the shop (1:31 p.m.)m told **** what was happening. Driving back (2 miles and less than 15 minutes later) with no AC on, the temperature gauge dropped to normal. The AC on (without cool air) was causing my vehicle to overheat. He claimed that the fan and connectors to the fan had shorted out and that this had nothing to do with the new compressor. May 5 he explained that he had the fan except one of the connectors. Again, I explained to Mavi, that I was not happy with this subsequent issue and that in reality I never received what I paid for. I had no prior issues with the fan system before my visit. He estimated $300 to get the fan fixed. I believe that there was an error in the installation of the compressor which resulted in my car's fan being damaged. I don't believe that driving 2 miles would cause my fan to be shorted out and I'm wondering if my original compressor was really bad. I never heard knocking or had any type of leak. May 9th (6 days later) I received the part, took it in and on May 10th, I paid $348.61 more and told **** that I was not satisfied with the situation and felt that I should not pay for the repairs. I would like to know if my compressor was actually damaged and needed to be replaced. It is my belief that the installation of the compressor was not done accurately and thus caused the fan system to blow out. I would like a full refund of any unnecessary expenses associated with my AC service visit.Business response

Hi, my name is MALA the owner of the Business **** auto repair and service responding to the complaint file by my customer ******* *******i read the complaint and we did chk and addressed the first complaint with a/c system we did find system was low on freon so we did the service as needed and tested a/c system again and found a/c compressor was not operating as designed. So we advised that its gonna need a/c compressor and was approved to do the job after a day or two we did complete the job replacing the a/c compressor and tested the a/c system and found was operating as designed and we did not do or touched anything else we test drove veh and found a/c was working fine after checking and confirmed the repairs called customer. But when she picked up found that a/c was not coming on as she also mentioned we did confirm and checked and found a/c system was ok....then we further diag and traced the problem to coolant fan system and showed her the connector to fan has burnt spots and showed the connector fan resistor is also has burnt spots and not making good connection and thats why the car is getting hot and fan needs to be fixed. And she took pictures also and ordered the connector and brought to us and we did fix the issue and I did fix the problem and it was working fine and they picked up the veh after repairs and all was good. And there is warranty on repairs all the time and was mentioned and there was any problem after repairs it should have been addressed and veh should be brought back to shop to verify and if not still need a invoice of repairs from different facility to confirm for any refund. And by the way I did not know of any complain and I still called her on Monday morning to offer and refund at that time and she said she will talk to her Husband and later in the day I found about the complain was disappointed cause they are good customers and I know them for long time and always we tried our best to take care of them and this time also we did what we could see and go step by step and fix the issue. We did invest in buying parts and installed as required. Please advise thanksCustomer response

I am rejecting this response because:
I am in communication with the business and Mr. **** has requested copies of invoices to resolve this issue. He has agreed to refund me the money I have paid with the condition that I return the compressor that he installed. What I don’t know for sure is how much of the $1,199 he is going to refund me. He requested that I contact him in a week since he is going out of town. I will have more information regarding resolution of this problem. I would like to communicate with him first and then come to a more formal agreement before accepting a resolution on the entire matter.
