On March 17, 2022, one of the springs on our garage door broke. After having it inspected, it was brought to our attention that the two springs on the door were very different and the spring on the right interior (which was the one that had broken) was much older. When I explained that I had previously had Local Garage Door Service repair both springs, the service provider who inspected it advised me to contact Local Garage Door Service again because "both springs were definitely not replaced and it is evident." I called Local Garage Door on March 18, 2022 and asked if someone could come out to look at the door. When the technician arrived, my husband showed him the broken spring and told him what we were advised of. Their representative agreed that this broken spring was not previously replaced. However, when my husband stated that it was their company who was supposed to have done the repair and showed him the invoice showing what we paid for, the rep immediately changed his tune and began making excuses for the difference in the springs, such as "sometimes we have to use different springs." When my husband continued to explain our position and that this needed to be made right his response was "Well, I can;t do this for free." Technically, we weren't asking him to do anything for free, other than to make right on the repair we previously paid for and they failed to complete. Therefore, my husband asked him to leave. We called back to the original service provider who thankfully was able to come out within a few hours. They again confirmed that Local Garage Door failed to install two new springs previously. PIctures are included. Even though their technician acknowledged the repair was not completed previously, they weren't willing to make things right. Therefore, I am asking for a refund of the $348.77 that I previously paid to them. Additionally, since my husband is a licensed contractor, I have filed a complaint with the investigations unit of CSLB.
