My husband and I stayed at California Inn and Suites in *********** on February 22nd and had a reservation for 3 nights. Entering the building to our room we noticed the security door did not close all the way, allowing anyone to enter. The hallway stank of mildew and had a stained carpet. Our room had no self closure mechanism on the door, it had been removed. There was food and a used sleeping cap on the floor. The cover on the box spring was gross and stained.When we saw this, I told the front desk we had to stay one night due to events booking all the hotels we called. I let him know our room was unacceptable and we will not be staying our entire reservation. I have called the hotel everyday trying to get our money back and they told me since I didnt turn in the key, I will be charged for all nights. I would like our money back, an apology, and have the hotel fix the safety issues.
