On April 26, 2022 I paid a $150 deposit for a consult and was told at that time that the deposit could be used towards treatment or surgery if needed. I then scheduled an appointment for May 12, 2022 for treatment instead of surgery at this time and the receptionist that took me to the room confirmed I could use my deposit for treatment.. Dr. ***** came in and said treatment would Cost $280 with a $150 deposit total owed should be $130 he then stated I couldn’t use the deposit.. that was not the information given to me at the time of the consultation or at the beginning of this appointment. I feel that they completely changed their terms bc I decided not to proceed with surgery right away.. I feel what they are doing is misleading and unethical. They should not be allowed to change the policy at their leisure.. I have no problem paying the additional 130$ but I want my original deposit to go to my treatment as I was originally was told. I would like a refund of $150 dollars. I did not authorize them to charge my card for $280. The photos are the amount that they charged my card for and the total treatment cost was $280. Please help.

This patient did pay a $150 consultation fee which she did receive services for, the consultation fee can be applied to surgery costs at the doctors discretion, the consultation fee primarily covers the providers time for consultations.
The patient did return for cosmetic treatment, and was advised multiple times before proceeding with treatment by the provider the $150 would not be applied to the treatment and her total would be $280, the patient verbally agreed to the cost and this was also charted in the patients account of verbal agreement. Patient then came to the reception area asking to speak to the manager where she stated to myself (practice manager), “…yes I agreed because I’m not going to argue with the doctor.” The patient was advised before receiving the treatment of what the cost would be, multiple times and still decided to proceed.
Patient left credit card information after speaking about having to pay the $280 charge, she asked if we could speak to Dr. ***** about the charge before processing which we did, we also told her we would call to process the card or send a text via our company’s mobile phone so she was aware of cost charged, pt received both a call and a text before processing her card.

I am rejecting this response because:

This is incorrect… I was told prior to the consultation that I could use the $150 towards any treatment and it was not just for consult.. I asked that question prior to booking the consultation.. Even the receptionist said she has never seen this happen and they have always been able to use the $150 towards any treatment..  So why was I mislead upfront and lied too! Also, the doctor did tell me that it would cost $280 I am not going to argue with a doctor prior to procedure; however, I thought it was miscommunication since I was told prior to doctor coming in that I could use the $150 credit towards procedure…  And it was not mentioned multiple times that I could not use deposit, it was mentioned one time! Please let me know who else I can reach out to file a complaint on this doctor! They gave false information upfront and mislead me for the consultation. I would have never done a consultation, if I knew I couldn’t use that money towards anything else..  Also, I have talked to two other physicians and they both have said I don’t need the surgery and were shocked he even approved it… Again malpractice! Please send me the info for State medical board and I will file a complaint there too!
