4 months ago I moved out of LIONS STORAGE.I informed miss ****** (employe)I was moving out after miss ****** and employees always parked in front of my storage door (B02) unable to get into my storage room. Also after Lions storage tried charging me for a pizza box I tried to throw away but there facilities DO NOT PROVIDE TRASH CANS. According to Miss ****** there facility “WE DO NOT HAVE TO PROVIDE ANY TRASH RECEPTACLES”. I was also sent an email from Lions storage telling me it looked like I moved out in June. Lions storage is still trying to charge me storage fees even though they now I moved out and storage is empty with NO LOCK on door. Miss ****** and Lions storage are committing FRAUD and trying to extort customers out of MONEY with fake charges. I went in person in September 2022 informing miss ****** I moved out and that she knew I did to stop Harassing me with emails about paying my bill when I already have move out over 2 months ago.Now 5 months later there STILL sending me a bill. Knowing I moved out. Telling me that what ever my stuff in storage is sold for im going to charged in collections the rest. I have no belongings in the storage due to me moving out over 5 months ago so that’s $0. Leaving me owing the ENTIRE BALANCE. (FRAUD!!) I feel I’m being extorted.Business response

Thank you for your email. Unfortunately this is the first message we have received from BBB as it appears prior correspondences have all been sent to the prior owner. Kindly update your mailing address to the PO Box listed below.I am currently with a family member in the hospital so will need to provide a more detailed response in January but a short response is below.Mr. ****** left his unit partially occupied with numerous items including a TV, two Childrens car seats, tubs of food (prohibited items) and other boxes. Per the terms of the lease agreement, a tenant must provide notice of intent to vacate their unit and return the unit empty in clean condition. Mr. ****** did neither and did not respond to any of our attempts to reach him about the items in his unit. Mr. ****** finally responded on 9/26 by coming into the office to say he had moved out of the unit but still refused to sign any document confirming he had abandoned his unit and the remaining personal items left in his personal unit. We have documented pictures of the remaining contents left in the unit. As a storage operator, we cannot assume a tenant has moved out of their unit if they do not provide formal notice of vacating the unit and emptying the contents. Rent still accrues until these actions occur as we cannot Re-rent the unit. Mr. ****** could have avoided all charges by simply completely emptying his unit and formally notifying our office that he was vacating.
