I had a leak in my wall in guest bathroom on the morning of August 23, 2021. I called Plumbing Experts in Palm Springs, CA and Gabe came out around 2 hours later. My son had turned off the main water to the house. Gabe had to cut a hole in the wall and he fixed a pin hole leak in a pipe. I also had him replace a valve on the main water line. He was here approximately 2 hours. He charged me $975.00. I was shocked & speechless and just paid him. I asked for an invoice at the time and he said he would email it to me later. He did not ask for my email address. The more I thought about it and then looked up on google how much a plumber usually charges ( $45 to $200 an hour) I got really upset. I really needed to see the invoice so I could see why he charged me so much. I asked for the invoice by text message and gave him my email address. He sent invoice around 2 hours later. He charge $725 to fix leak and $250 to replace the main valve. No parts were listed, so this was all labor. OMG! I immediately emailed him and questioned his billing. He said he charged a flat rate. He said he was the EXPERT and that's the price of an EXPERT. Well i just want people to know what a crook some people can be and you should always ask what their charge is when you call them or at least after they see the job. I feel he didnt tell me what he charges because people probably turn him away when he comes up with these high charges. I think he is a crook. He has done this to several other people as well as they put a review on Yelp. I also gave a review on Yelp I would think this kind of thing is against a law, to overcharge a customer this much.
