Our ****** Corolla 2007 has had an engine check light for a while now and we have been trying to figure out what it was. We took it to autozone to check why the light was on it stated that it was the *** within the car. We then called A&B auto repair since the guy that we bought the car bought the car with this establishment. We thought okay they are going to know how to fix the car. He stated to come in on that friday which was 01/12/2024. We dropped off car and the owner started working on it. Saturday comes he states he has to replace the *** and Ox sensor. We then go on Tuesday 01/16/2024 to pick up car. I take care directly to a smog since smog is needed for my car for registration. Once the guy turns on car the engine light is on. I take it back to A&B auto repair he states that i need to drive car for 150 miles for *** to reset. Once we pass the 150 miles the engine check light is still on. He then states to bring back. Nothing was explained of what was done more to the car but then a couple days later the car was ready. We take back car and owner still states to not take it to smog because the *** needs time to reset . The engine light never reset. we had to call around different places in order to help us figure out. We finally got one mechanic to fix the car and it passed smog. I paid the $368 cash for the car to be fixed at A&B auto repair but they didnt repair it.Business response

A customer with a ****************************************************************************** this report it stated the following codes PO 171 and PO 174. These codes refer to the Mass Air Flow and Oxygen Sensor. There wasn't any *** references and we never worked/repaired such a issue. The car also had a miss firing issue which which we fixed, along with a Tune Up, replaced the Mass Air Flow, and Oxygen Sensor with new parts. I advised the customer to drive for about 150 miles and to check if the engine light came back on and to bring it back to us for additional check up, and they never followed up or showed up as I suggested.
Furthermore we never sold this car to its prior owner and do not credit such claims. We did not repair or replace the *** which was noted as it was not part of the cars problem.

I took my Ford focus for a transmission fix he never fix it it came same thing over and over. I took it to another mechanic and the report said he never fix the the transmission.
