      - Contractor lied about finalized permit at the end of the project, got paid and then I had to call the city to find out that the permit was not finaled as per our contract. I spent 4 months trying to get him to fix the issue and get the finaled permit and he dragged his heels because he had already been paid. -In Feb of 2022 our system went down due to an issue with our condenser. ****** ignored my calls until i used a number he did not know and proceeded to fail to show to fix the issue and then subsequently ask me to wait nearly 2 months before he could come address it despite the system being under a 10 year warranty. I had to pay another company over $1000 to fix the system in a reasonable amount of time. In April of 2022 our thermostat broke and the system was unusable. I emailed the contractor again asking for assistance under the terms of the warranty and was told it would take 2-3 weeks for resolution. after the 2nd week he stopped responding to requests for an update on timeline and at the end of the 3rd week there was no resolution. I again had to call another company to come handle the issue.

      To Whom it may concern,

In reference to lying about finalizing permit there was no lie, the inspector showed up cleared the job as finaled but requested one small change that we could make and send in a picture of the correction which we did the very next day and sent photo to inspectors email. We assumed all was completed as we followed inspectors instructions. ************** contacted the office four months later saying we lied and the inspection was not finalized. Lets not forget this was early 2020 and city officials were trying to manage during Covid protocol. I finally reached inspector about issues and he informed me of an oversight of my email being missed and he would correct the problem asap and he did and I notified ************** it was finaled. My contract requests final payment at time of completed installation not at finaled permit as in a lot of cases cities are slow at finalizing permit in HVAC because of title 24 H.E.R.S uploading again no deception required as contract clearly stated payment a completion of installation. In regards to ************** and his first service call, I informed him i had laid off all my staff because of Covid and i was the only one available for service but was injured with a knee injury and would not be able to come out for 3 - 4 weeks but would reach back out when I was available to schedule. ************** was not happy and I could understand with having a new born but I was injured and it was a reasonable request for him to wait for a service call. He proceeded to call another company and according to ************** the other company said we did the job wrong which created animosity towards my company from **************. I am a licensed and very experienced HVAC contractor and installed the system correctly and to code and H.E.R.S compliance. I informed ************** that his system was no longer covered under warranty as another contractor worked on our system without our consent which voided warranty.  ************** then contacted me again in April about a thermostat failure issue, I offered to help him even though he voided our warranty months earlier. I  ordered a new replacement thermostat from Trane with and ETA of 2 -3 weeks from my Trane dealership. I continued to check on updates but equipment was back ordered like everything else from overseas because of shipping container issues. I did not ignore his emails. I only found out he no ***** needed thermostat after I contacted him after received a complaint on Yelp, BBB, and CSLB. I truly wanted to help ************** but it seems as though my timing was not fast enough to meet his needs.

      Sincerely,
      ****** Bowman
