On 3/1/2024, I placed an order for the birdie+. I acknowledged that in order to receive all of the benefits this device offered that it would require a subscription. I did not want to purchase the subscription, at least not at first. I felt that if I wanted the subscription I would add it on later. Fast forward a month later when I notice a charge on my credit card statement from them. I looked everywhere to find a way to cancel it and of course there wasnt a way. I had to reach out to them directly. I sent an email explaining that I did not know I was signed up for a subscription and to please cancel. They responded (rudely) that there is a notice about it before checking out- this is untrue. The notice is (currently- as of 04/16/2024) below the Pay Here button. I had no reason to scroll down past this button so I would not have seen this. This is a very shady business practice. Do with it what you will.Initial Complaint

On 11/27/23, I purchased two Birdie+ devices for personal safety and holiday gift. On the company's website, the devices were advertised as "providing instant, 24/7 access to a live emergency support rep" and "instant alert" of location to emergency contacts. These claims are false. After receiving the device, I spent no less than an hour testing various settings. Despite following all their instructions, including keeping the Birdie+ app active in the background, I could not activate an instant call or instantly alert my emergency contacts. In fact, the only way to activate this call is by following a five-step process: 1) turn on/activate your phone, 2) enter your phone's PIN, ** activate the ********************** app on your phone, 4) go back to your Birdie device to press that button, 5) then a call can be activated.The company blatantly advertises false information on its website for profit and subject countless consumers who trust their products to potential physical and emotional harm. Additionally, despite my multiple attempts to reach out requesting a return of their defective products, they have not responded.Initial Complaint

I bought a number of Birdies. I had one fail (both the alarm and the light). I only had it 6-8 weeks. I contacted them and they were going to replace it (per Destiny). I was honest that I had a little bit of water on my hand and literally two drops of water hit itjust on the body and not on the top or the openings near the alarm. I wiped it immediately. I was then told my *** it could not be replaced. However, if just two drops of water hit only the case and it was pretty new, then its not a strong product or good company. Order # ****** was placed on 12/11 for $228.88 and my credit card was immediately charged. Shipment confirmation never sent so follow up emails were sent to ************************************ on 12/19 and 12/22. Rec'd a response on 12/22 that the order was not shipped - responded and requested that the order be cancelled and a refund be issued since these were intended as Christmas gifts. Rec'd a response that due to a charge back, the main office would have to respond. Responded and again, requested the refund. Rec'd response on 12/29 that the main office would have to respond about the refund. Never heard from main office and received the delivery on 1/4.Initial Complaint

I placed an order on 12/7/22 for 2 shes birdie personal alarms for a total of $48.70. Order #******. My debit card was charged on 12/8/22 as of 12/20/22 I have not received info saying my items have been shipped . I have sent 4 emails asking for an update on my order . I also sent a face book message . There is no phone # avail on web site or online . I did check their Face book ************ are many complaints the same as mine . There is no customer service available . I believe this company is a scam . The web site mentioned ( not outright) that they charge a. Activation membership? Therefore I have to cancel my debit card as not to get charged . This company needs to be checked out for fraud.Initial Complaint

I ordered a Birdie alarm for my daughter. I neglected to add the subscription on to the order. I have tried reaching them through their online chat but no one is responding. I need to have the business contact me. Also, there is no phone number for the company on its website.Customer response
