I have been experiencing severe swelling and inflammation in various parts of my body after developing a bacterial skin and skin structure infection roughly a year and a half ago. I was told by few different providers that this type of infections exacerbates the myeloma cells, which I have history of these types of diseases from childhood and am at increased risk. I visited a doctor who claims to perform surgery on salivary glands and facial paralysis. I was told that I have a mass in my right parotid gland by an online radiologist. Anyways, I had a horrible experience with this terrible provider because of his negligence and disrespect for me and my family. He was rude and said they should take time off of work and travel with me to do surgery on a completely different part of my body than I wanted to originally be seen for. I am both frustrated and disappointed that I wanted to be seen for something however was ended up being ignored of my complaints and requests. Also, his office is self pay and non-insurance. This is not how you should treat patients concerns. I explained to him about a phobia I have about imaging facilities and he was rude and negligent about it.

************************** came to see me for what he thought was a swelling of the parotid gland.  Based on the exam and imaging study I discovered he has masseter muscle hypertrophy from grinding his teeth, rather than parotid disease.  I explained that to him, and how to treat it.  Additionally I looked through his labs and discovered he has hyperparathyroidism and tried to emphasize to him that he has a a lot of symptoms that are probably related to this ailment.  I followed up with him and his father (his emergency contact) that I believe he needs to address the hyperparathyroidism.  ******** said that he doesnt want to pay for further blood tests and refused to go to the lab to further assess the hyperparathyroidism.  He also said that he will not do the ** scan that I requested to identify the potential cause of the hyperparathyroidism.

His father informed me that in the past year ******** has been acting very erratically, to the point of the family considering taking him to be admitted to the psychiatric unit at the hospital.  I explained it is very possibly that this is all due to hyperparathyroidism.  That ******** already has the perscription for labs and imaging to start the path to treatment but refused to proceed.

******** has called my office several times and harassed my staff.  I spoke to him on the phone and tried to explain that the swelling in his face is due to the masseter muscle that is just deep to the parotid gland; and that his parotid gland is absolutely normal.  And also the bigger issue is his hyperparathyroidism.  He got upset and hung up the phone
