    My husband and I decided to ************* view **** at Big Bear Getaway to bring our kid for a Sunday night stay, $192 with discount code, after comparing their listed amentities with other quick weekend getaway options in the area like Great Wolf Lodge and Catalina ******* Albeit we have never been there, we were super excited to introduce campfire and S'mores to our 3-year old. However, when we woke up the next morning after we booked the cabin, we received a text message saying that we would not be allowed to use the fire pit, which came completely out of the blue. We decided to booked the stay all because of the expectation that we would be able to enjoy a cozy campfire stay at the cabin but they were telling us we wouldn't be allowed to use the fire pit? That was absolutely unaccetable. If you knew you wouldn't be able to fulfill any of the listed amentities that you promised to a customer due to any circumstances, why you didn't warn the customer before reservatio was created. In fact, there was no information or mentioning of such circumstance on their website whatsoever. For a getaway vacation that's been heavily advertised and emphsized on private campfire as their sellingpoint, it's undoubtedly an unethical and malicious business practice that Big Bear Getaway attracts customers to rent a cabin through this sellingpoint without letting the customers aware of such circumstances, which they would not allow the customers to use the firep pit after reservation was created. And, pairing with their terrible refund policy, it was nothing but a scam.The moment we realized we were deceived by their delusive marketing trick, I texted back to cancel the reservcation and requested for a full refund because that was clearly not as described and not what we agreed to pay for. The customer service insisted that they woouldn't cancel the reservation, issue refund, nor provide any solution to remediate their failure to fulfill described service. Worst business ever.

    We rented a property through Big Bear Getaway thinking a management company would have a higher standard of the properties being rented and be more reliable than an individual. This could not be further from the truth. We rented a property (Bearly Inn) just after Christmas. Upon arrival, there were multiple small issues we resolved on our own such as light bulbs, no blankets on the beds, wires being exposed from the walls, etc. We were very disappointed in the condition of the home upon arrival as it appeared to be very dirty and extremely dusty. My mother has very mild allergies, usually caused by season changes, but has never suffered from allergies caused by animals or normal house dust. By the second day she was suffering from headaches, congestion and starting to have some mild wheezing. I called the Big Bear Getaway office multiple times only to be transferred to the "mainline" out of state with no return phone call. By Day 3, my mother was suffering and we had to leave a day early because of her allergies caused by dust, dirt and possible mold. It has taken 3 months with repeated messages, emails and texts to finally speak with someone in the Big Bear Getaway office. Kristin informed me that the best she could do would be to refund us the cleaning fee after I sent in multiple photos of the home. We asked for a refund for the night we were forced to leave because of health reasons caused by the property, this was declined stating under contract they do not give refunds. Not only does this company have the worst customer service, rent dirty properties but they do not take any responsibility for their shortcomings. At this point, it is not about the refund but principle. This company knowingly takes advantage of travelers and then uses "contracts" as an excuse for not taking responsibility. The Yelp reviews do not lie, and clearly this is a habitual problem with this company.
