Took my project car to Classic Car Refinishers back in April 11, 2018. Total cost for restoration $14,376.12 minus interior work. Initial deposit of $7,200 was made to start the rebuild on April 11, 2018. Rebuild was supposed to take 6-10 months. First payment of $3,000 dollars was made on July 28, 2018. I bought a $10K crate engine from West Coast engine to include $6k transmission and had it shipped to ******** shop. I deployed for 10 months overseas and returned March 2019. I visited ****** in his shop to see updates and started getting excuses that he was behind, however he kept telling me that I was his #1 priority and his work is quality and couldn't be rush. COVID hit in early 2020. He continued to push deadlines. Weeks turned to months and months turned to years. In December 2020 I paid him a visit and hear stories of his family catching covid, and that he did not have employees to continue the work at his shop. He mentioned his lost of his mother due to COVID. Hearing this I made an unscheduled payment of $1,000 to help him along these harsh times. In June 1 2022 I visited the shop dropping of $2,900 in parts and weather stripping because he said the car should be finished by September 2022. I had an unscheduled 6 month deployment, during deployment I call and texts ****** for updates and build pictures. This guy was hard to get in contact with. January 2023 returned from deployment continuing to call ****** with no answer from Ronnie. I started doing research on BBB and found other customers in the same predicament I was in. ****** did not answer my calls or text, decided to make a 3 hour drive to visit the shop. Shop is no longer there and my 1964 impala nowhere to be found. I was able to get ******** resident address. Paid him a visit, cops had to get involved to get my car. Got my car back however with significant damages and missing parts. No work done. Missing chrome, parts and damage interior. ROUGHLY $18K LOST ( PAYMENT, PARTS AND DAMAGES).
