I have dental insurance, the dentist charges my insurance for any service they provide then they charge me what my insurance says I owe but this time they would not perform the service unless i paid $1200 up front. My insurance company paid $651 and sent me a statement saying that I owed $203.80 So I requested a refund of $996.20 the office manager said that they would only refund $768 It has been 7 weeks and no refund. I went to the dentist office and requested a refund on 11/15 /2023 nothing yet. the office manager ****** stated to me that there was nothing she could do.Business response

The patient came in 10/06/2023, treatment was recommended and options were given. The patient was given the option to pay a total of $1200 at the time of service WITHOUT insurance authorization, and the possibility of reimbursement once treatment is completed and payment from insurance has been received.
The patient was also given the option to wait for insurance authorization and proceed with treatment based on insurance estimates.
The patient declined waiting for authorization and agreed to pay $1200 at the time of service. In addition, patient wanted to upgrade service and pay additional fee, knowing it will be considered cosmetic upgrade and not covered by insurance.
Treatment was finalized 10/20/2023. Insurance payment was received 11/06/2023.
Total contracted fee for service with insurance is $960.00.Upgraded cosmetic fee is $350.00 Total $1310
Insurance paid $768.00.
Refund request for $768.00 was processed on 11/14/2023 and finalized on 11/28/2023.
