I hired this moving company through thumbtack. After comparing companies and asking questions about their moving practices I chose golden state movers. My new home was only 2 miles away from my old one, so they didnt have to travel any long distances. I provided them with a huge roll of bubble wrap from **** club and the amount of boxes plus a few extra that they told me I would need. I did send them a video and pictures of everything which was my whole house that needed to be packed and moved. They quoted me an hourly price of $145 an hour. Now, keep in mind I did have another company that would do the job for only $10 more an hour, and I have proof! Because, Golden state said I was lying when I told them this after being very unhappy with their moving service. Also, I never once mentioned a budget or mentioned money was an issue. I told them to take as much time as needed, because it was a semi-big job.Upon opening the moving boxes at my new place, I noticed everything was just tossed loosely in the boxes and was not protected by any kind of bubble wrap or material. Half of my kitchen plates were broken, I had to hire a home organizer to unpack my kitchen stuff and put it all away because it was extremely overwhelming for me. I even told the moving company that I have adhd and autism so tasks like this are difficult and overwhelming for me. So, I figured at least stuff would be neatly packed which would make unpacking significantly less overwhelming. The organizing service was $350. Id like to fully be reimbursed for that, because if the moving company neatly packed the boxes, I would not have needed the service. My bathroom stuff is horrible too! Its been 2 months and I have only partially unpacked 1 box of the daily necessities that I need such as: makeup, OTC meds, hair stuff, and other bathroom items. For 2 months I havent worn any makeup because its far too overwhelming to unpack the bathroom boxes. I want $ back for organizers & half moving cost.
