I purchased a new car, my first car purchase, from this dealer on 5/14/23. When looking at the breakdown of costs I noticed a $299 fee for something called code and asked what it was. I was told it was a required security feature that could not be removed, that the car couldn't be sold to me without this. It being my first time purchasing I wasn't aware and took ******************************* for his word. It never sat right with me/made sense and so I recently did digging on this and found that this was not true or legal to do and force. I've also found many other reviews on various platforms from others who suffered the same scam. This is so rude, uncouth, and not legal in the end - completely disregard to do to unsuspecting and trusting customers. I would appreciate the money for this being refunded rather to me or my loan lien holder, whatever would work, but something needs to be done as this is completely not okay.

Took our sons car in on Wed 5/10 9:30 appointment for a/c inspection. 3:00pm came around and I had not received a call so I called them to get an update. ***** in service told me they did a partial charge but want to keep it overnight to check for leaks. I agreed. Next day no call again so I called them and was told there is a leak and it would cost roughly $2400. I told them I would be picking it up (Thursday) and would have to discuss it with my husband. I was charged $167.94 for a/c system repair my paperwork says. After picking it up my son told me it needed gas even though it had plenty when we dropped it off. But I didnt think much about it. ***** was then told by my father in law, who gifted our son the car, that he purchased a warranty. I then called the dealership it was purchased at and it was confirmed. I was also told that **** Brandt should have seen that when they pulled the car up on their system. I called Bill Brandt back. They told me they didnt think to look for a warranty since the car was so old. They told me they would have the part sometime Monday and to bring it in on Tuesday. We dropped it off Mon night leaving the keys in the lockbox. I got no call again all day Tues so called them around 3:30. They told me they found another problem and needed over night again but it would be ready in the morning sometime. I got no calls yet again so I called around 3. I was told it was being finished and it would be ready in about a 1/2 hour. I took my son down there for them to tell me it was a mistake and not my car that was ready. I complained and they said sorry we never thought to tell you you can get a rental through your warranty. Our car was finally read Thurs morning. I went to pick it up and the gas was on empty again! My son only drove it to school and back on Fri and Mon between the times it was at the dealership and went nowhere over that Mothers Day weekend. I then looked at the mileage and saw that approx 200 miles had been driven by them
