Signed up for Disney Movie Club years back, quit, but was recently pulled back in by their offer of free shipping for life. To say that Im a bit of a collector is a bit of an understatement. I tend to buy one copy to keep wrapped, one to watch and one as a just in case one (yes I know this is excessive). DMC made this easy for me with the discounts. However last month I went a tad bit overboard and bought my copies, plus copies for Christmas gifts and to donate to charity this holiday season. DMC reached out concerned but I explained myself and they told me I could go ahead with the order, but warned me there was a limit in the TOSperfectly fine! I have been strictly adhering to it ever since. Recently they released limited steelbooks of their D+ shows and had a site error that wouldnt put the orders in the order history thinking I was the problemI mistakenly tried a few to many times and the next day ended up with like 50 orders of the same item. I cancelled all but my standard purchase amount. But today, I started to receive my typical order processing payments but then they disappeared. I went to log into my account and it read that I do not have an account associated with DMC. I called and the cast member proceeded to tell me that my account had been shut down but couldnt tell me why. When I asked if my account couldve been flagged because of the glitch, he told me that that was most likely the case and that he couldnt talk about it further as it was the rules. and that Im no longer a member Even though it was their sites fault.Business response

I purchased 6 movies on February 22, 2023. On March 13, 2023, I receive another charge of $27.07, which Im not sure why. I at some point between February and March had cancelled my subscription, so I assumed the $27 was the movies, but a later charge of $87.27 on March 27th was made, which at that point I assumed was fraudulent or likely done so without my consent. I cancelled my card and got a new one. I received a letter on the mail detailing that I still have to pay the $87.27, so I called to have this bill settled since I still have the movies, and the number does not direct me to customer service. Instead, the number encourages others to subscribe or simply check the status of a payment on their already existing. I am frustrated, and at this point, I will pay the $87.27 if I have to, but there is a clear lack of transparency going on there.Business response

Upon reviewing this complaint, we have located ************ Membership. ************ clicked to cancel his Membership effective March 23, 2023 accepting the terms of the Membership Agreement. Per the terms he signed up with, he chose to cancel without fulfilling the minimum purchase requirement therefore agreeing to pay full price for the initial order he received for $1.00.
We have emailed ************ providing him his options to remove the balance owed on his Membership. For his convenience, we are sending him a pre-paid mailing label to cover the fees to return that initial order including the following movies he received in February:
DVD-THE INCREDIBLES
DVD-TOY STORY 2010
DVD-WALL-E
DVD-HERCULES

As most complaints say, I was unable to cancel my Disney Movie Club subscription. Instead, I cancelled my card and got a new one. My statements show declined charges every week going back to August of 2021 because my card had a new expiration date and security pin. Every week since 9-19-21 there is a decline from DMC trying to run my card. Apparently each time they ran it, they attempted new expiration dates and new security pins, WITHOUT CONSENT, because they somehow got a charge to go through on 7-8 and **** of 2023, for a total of $73.25. Both if these charges occurred without my consent and without them ever being given the new security information on my card. This company FRAUDULENTLY charged my card, TWICE.Business response

Upon reviewing this complaint and the membership in question, we see that **************** spoke with a Cast Member on July 17, 2023 and the account was canceled. She will be returning movies she does not wish to own. To help with her return, we are sending a pre-paid mailing label to cover freight costs.
Regarding ****************** question regarding her credit card being charged: Credit Card Issuers share account updates with approved merchants in order to improve customer experience and eliminate interrupted service. If **************** has further questions or concerns about this, we recommend she work with her credit card issuer.

*** tried calling but I have to be a member to even talk to a person but I had to cancel because my daughter thought it was ok to use my card without asking. I got charged a fee of $27. 78 but it was declined July 1st but went through July 7th and I wasnt notified that money will even be taken out of my account for me to cancel ahead of time. Even when I cancelled they was talking about an $85 fee but i dont have the money for that. I just need a easy solution to this because I dont have enough for all these fees.Business response

This company makes it impossible to cancel. I signed up with them because they had a good deal. Now, I want to cancel because I started college and really need the extra money. They are trying to charge me to cancel even though they just charged my account, and I was not told this information anywhere in the beginning.Business response

Gave info for survey for free rewards. Was offered A$1.99 Trial (not starting price) in this Disney Movie Club. After I he trial DVDs dus nit select any more but a large charge just came from my account and they want me to pay an even larger fee to cancel.Business response

On April 21st, 2023 I opened an email stating that I started a membership with Disney movie club when I in fact did not. I checked my bank account and found I had also been charged $1. I tried to find a way to contact support with no luck. This account needs to be cancelled and my money refunded or Im reporting this company as fraud to my bank.Business response

I received a charge on my credit card a couple months ago for the Disney Club. I disputed this charge with my credit card company letting them know the charge was fraudulent. The charge was removed; however, I received a letter from the Disney Club informing me my membership was active and that I needed provide an updated credit card to bill me. I tried calling the number but was not able to reach a customer service representative. It would only permit me to enter new credit card information. I attempted to use the email address provided *************************************************************** to notify them this was fraudulent account. They redirected me back to the phone number. This company makes it impossible to cancel a membership. I have been trying for over 2 years. They don't allow you to cancel the membership on the website or even change your credit card. They say to send an email. When you send an email they ask you to call. When you call you are put on hold and never get anyone on the line. This is a total scam and I need this membership dropped already. Please see my letter to them and their instructions which are anything but easy on the customer to get out of this.
