I purchased a warranty from Riggs Distribution in ********** for our new kitchen appliances. I need service on a broken refrigerator handle, and they are saying they don't do warranty work anymore. They tried to pass me off to another company to do the work, and they don't do the work either. Frustrating - I just need them to come out and turn some screws (would do it myself if I knew how). This is the service that I paid them for, and now they tell me they discontinued doing the service that they upsold me.

We entered into a contract with Riggs to install a fridge/freezer when it became available. The cost was $550.00 with a down payment of 10%. The latter was paid on January 5, 2022. Sometime in March/April of 2022 Riggs called and said that they would not install the appliance. Riggs failed to return our $55.00.On November 18, 2022 we received by email an invoice for $495.00, the balance of the original contract they had breached. We advised Riggs that we did not owe that money but that Riggs owed us $55.00, the 10% down payment we had made. We received no response from Riggs until January 27, 2023 crediting us with the $495.00 we didn't owe them in the first place. Again no reimbursement of our $55.00. We contacted them again about that sum but the company has failed to respond. It is a matter of principle that a company not be allowed to renege on a contract and then withhold a down payment. Based on that behavior companies would be able to enter into contracts. require a down payment and then breach the contract without having to return the down payment.

      Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry.  We apologize for the lack of communication and would like to get this resolved as soon as possible.  Unfortunately, at the time of the March/April 2022 timeframe Riggs Distributing went through a full organization restructure and the delivery/installation program was eliminated, in addition, to the concierge service department.

I can assure you that the deposit of $55 went to the correct department for processing.  I am more than happy to connect with you with updates on the refund payment that will be sent back to you.  Please reach me by email ******************************* or my direct line at ************ with additional questions or concerns.  Thank you.

We purchased a sub zero refrigerator from airport appliance in September 2020. When the refrigerator/freezer was installed it came damaged with a defective door. The refrigerator was installed by box appliance and shipped by Riggs distributing. The relationship of each of these companies remains opaque. Following installation, we complained and after 3 attempts to replace the door taking many months box appliance finally replaced the door. During this time our property was damaged and we were inconvenienced on multiple occasions. Inexplicably Riggs sent us multiple bills and invoices which we paid and or disputed snd they told us all bills were paid by ***************** in January 2021. In august 2021 we received a collection notice from **************************** related to an unpaid invoice that is neither valid or legitimate. Simply we are owed money and were never compensated for all our issues. The district manager *** was too busy to discuss this via phone.
