I had no hot water and called Prater Plumbing they said that the cartridge in the faucet needed to be replaced. They replace that it cost me $180 that did not fix the problem. They told me that the whole faucet needed to be replaced. They cut a hole in the wall did not repair the wall and replaced the whole faucet. The new faucet cost me almost $745 that did not fix the problem. My water heater was still under warranty. They ordered the piece that needed to be replaced and said that it would be another $780. They’re charging me an extra $280 for a consolation feed. I am a disabled vet. I’ll found somebody else to fix it for me for $200 and now they’re charging me a consolation fee that I don’t feel that I should have to pay because it’s already cost me almost $1000 and the problem was not fixed by them. I did not sign a contract. I paid for all the work that they did. They did almost $1000 worth of work that did not fix the problem and they’re still charging me for it.Business response

All work completed for Patricia was explained clearly, completed exactly as described, correct, and 100% complete. She never paid the last bill, our diagnostic time on the water heater malfunctioning. It is under warranty with the manufacturer. We spent the time on the phone working with tech support to confirm this. Tech support confirmed the water heater failed burner assembly that we diagnosed was under warranty and they sent her a new one. She never paid for our last invoice to perform this diagnosis and get her parts sent from them under warranty.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: I feel that they should have been able to diagnose the water heater problem before having to replace the whole faucet assembly and charging me $780 for it. Faucet was not the problem and they should have diagnosed it before I had the expense. The faucet was not the problem I was not getting any hot water at all before they replace the faucet. They replace the cartridge first that did not solve the problem. They should’ve looked to the water heater before informing me that the Faucet needed to be replaced. They always sent two people out so that they could double charge me for two people instead of where one person could have fixed it. I caught one of the texts out, playing on his phone instead of working on trying to fix the problem.. they went out to their van several times just to run up the charge that they charge me. I don’t know whether they were playing on the phone or not. I know one time that they were and I caught them at it. I shouldn’t have to pay the extra charge where they’ve already gotten $900 out of me and it still didn’t fix the problem. I could’ve called the company and got it, the replacement part myself
