Awful company. Got our panels installed, and after two months they have never worked. Finally got a response from them that they are going bankrupt and we are on our own.

I worked with KOTA Energy Group for my home in Escondido. The roof had to be replaced because the original wood shingles were covered by Cal Pac 19 years ago now, so Tate made sure to explain the pricing and the process. They re-roofed the back of the home with plywood decking, new shingles, and the panels now. Process was smooth, the representative has showed up for the roofing installation and the solar. The system is the Enphase battery and converter box, and I can check my solar kWh production whenever I want. Happy I switched.

KOTA SOLAR 02/16/2024 Issues: My Electrical Box I've been told is not working correctly.  Ive  called you and emailed you and I've heard no response. This is very familiar to me because it falls right in line with your poor communication during my installation too . I've already contacted my attorney and you can bet I'm not going to brush this aside.  Your  customer service has been subpar since the beginning and now I can fully understand why the young man who sold us on your company has left your employment. Get someone out here asap to fix my issue.  Theres  no way I should be paying you $300 a month and have a utility bill of nearly $400 to SDG&E. FIX THIS MESS!

I ordered two bands a white one and a black one! Then only sent one and it was red! Then we get a BS answer back why and they still have t fixed the problem! Don’t order from this joke of a company!!

Working with A***** was a great experience. He went above and beyond, surpassed our expectations and was always available if neededHe was very friendly, professional and very knowledgeable about the process. He made it very easy for us to decide. The team that did the installation was also beyond professional, and courtesy. They cleaned up as they went along and never left anything. All In All would highly recommend A***** to get your project started. The energy savings are enormous and we got a new roof in n the process.

BEWARE. I cannot evaluate workmanship. I can only evaluate customer care and communication. Initially, KOTA talked a good game. After nearly 6 months, however, they have shockingly not even given a start date for the job! Our relationship has been a series of disappointments since signing the Loan and Security Agreement on 8/17/23. Since Aug, 2023, requests for updates from our project leads have often been ignored. Multiple voicemails and texts have gone unanswered. When lucky to receive an update, promises never materialized and our few questions were ignored. In early Dec, 2023 the first project lead moved from the area and another project lead was assigned. We discovered this only after calling KOTA customer care to inquire why we hadn't heard anything prior to Nov. Eventually, through Pasadena city, I discovered that permit applications had been submitted and approved in late Sept/early Oct, 2023. Permit documents were never provided by KOTA. The city provided them in Dec when I requested copies. A city inspection appointment was made during the first week of Jan, 2024. In the days before, my requests to confirm it went unanswered. Nobody showed up and the next day we received a brief text message that ignored the inspection issue. In early Jan, 2024, we notified KOTA that we were going to pursue working with someone else. The next message we received essentially ignored this and the project lead said that he would "reach out to [the contractor] again today about your roof getting completed ... and we can start [installation] the following day." This message was sent on Jan 5th and no communication has been received since. If you are looking for professional, trustworthy treatment and at least minimal concern for customers, based on experience, I recommend a different company. Ultimately, we cannot evaluate their workmanship. If you'd be willing to wait more than 6 months for a job to BEGIN, perhaps it could be worth the wait.

My solar panels were installed earlier this year, and the experience was fantastic. Austin Rester was my point of contact at KOTA. A***** and the KOTA team were professional, explaining everything clearly and helping me choose the best setup for my needs. The installation was quick and precise, and the communication throughout was excellent. KOTA helped make an immediate impact on my energy bills. Since the installation, I've seen a significant reduction. It has been a wise investment for both the environment and my wallet. In conclusion, if you're considering solar panels, KOTA Energy Group, specifically A***** ******, is the right choice. The process was smooth, and the results exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend using KOTA if you are thinking of going solar!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Kota is the absolute worst company that I have ever encountered. Shady business practices and lack of follow-through on commitments. I signed a contract for a new roof and solar installation back in March 2023 my experience was that this was a complete waste of time, not to mention that now I have missed out on the tax credit deadline due to the incompetence of KOTA. Two failed attempts to start the project due to Kota not being able to properly manage projects and their finances. Both times a date was scheduled and then cancelled the day before. I was also assigned and contacted by 5 different project managers in the company who had no idea what was going on with my project. I was also promised reimbursement for my PG$E Electric bill for 5 months of delay but I never received anything. They also never appropriately informed me about the placement of the solar box - which was probably not even possible given the fact that it needed to be several feet away from a window and I have windows on all sides. After reading more about this fraudulent company on the Better Business Bureau site and Yelp, I communicated to KOTA that I was ending my relationship with this company and voided the contract. They don't even deserve one star but I don't see an option to submit a review with zero stars.

Initially, we had planned to install the solar panels with a different company two years ago. However, we became overwhelmed by the process and eventually changed our minds. It wasn't until a year later that we had the opportunity to connect with P****, who introduced us to the options offered by Kota. Opting for Kota turned out to be one of our best financial decisions, particularly in light of the continuously rising cost of electricity.
