Nine times out of 10 when I bring my car in to have something fixed, a new problem arises within a day or two. Yesterday, August 17, it happened within 1/2 mile. (My car was there in the first place to fix a problem they'd fixed THREE ties in the last 10 months.) The NEW issue that became apparent within 1/2 mile requires a ***** fix, according to them. Either they don't know what they're doing, or they are thieves. BTW this new issue rendered the car undrivable. So my hands are tied by because of their greed.

I went into the store to get my truck fixed, making loud vibration when I drove it. The owner who goes by three different names, ****** **** or ***** took my truck from the parking lot into the lift and said oh it is my left front barring, that needed to be fixed and that would stop the noise. I said I hadn't been there in 2 years and wasn't sure my account was still active could he check. When he heard the open amount suddenly I also needed 2 new tires. He left before the repairs were done as the store was closing soon. The other mechanics took it for a test drive, came back and put it back on the lift and said that the noise was coming from the back rear differential, but that would cost another $450.00 to just look at it. I asked if it was safe to drive it and he said yes, but the noise would only get worse. I paid for the repairs and the store closed as I pulled off the lot I began to cry because they had not fixed it still making same noise and vibrations. I came back the next day but the owner wasn't in. I was again told that they needed to fix the rear differential, I said ok I would come back the next day to fix it. But I went somewhere else and they immediately said it was the right barring and it was so bad he was afraid the wheel could have broke. I have both parts from both places, I have gone to 8 other locations of parts places for them to confirm I needed the repair on the left one, EVERY place said no it shouldn't have been replaced. When I went back the owner again kept saying I was wrong and only because I mentioned I had called the BAR on him did he wish to take $125.00 off for my trouble??? My problem is he fraudulently fixed a wrong part then tried to get me to fix another part that also did not need replacement. I shouldn't have to pay for the wrong part, or the labor to put in the wrong part. I feel very mistreated and as if because I was a woman I don't know anything and should just take his word for what I needed to get fixed.

      Business response

      06/30/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/28) */ ****** knows my name it ****** my business card is at the counter. when she came in she said she was hearing a noise from the left side of the car and we didn't need to road test the car you can hear the noise from the parking lot driving. but I didn't do that I ****** **** tested the car and did hear a very load noise like she was complaining about on the left side of car. so we lifted the car up and heard the noise from left side and didn't hear anything from right side of car when the car was in the air. so we sold her the left side wheel bearing and two rear tires because they where worn out which I showed her. and she adgree the noise was also coming from left side as well. then I left and went home for the day and my tech and manager stayed to finish the car because we close at 6pm. so after tech road tested the car the tech did hear a noise from also right front and rear end of the vehicle which my manager told ** **** about it. So she was going to bring it back the next day to check it. which i didn't know about this unit she came back three or four day later. and I help her again and she told me that I ripped her off . and I told her I didn't that must of also a problem with the right side as well. when she came in i also gave her the old bearing and also showed her that the old bearing was spinning in my hand which was making a very load noise. just by spinning by hand. I told her imagine the car driving at 30 to 60 mph how load it would get. so i told her i am sorry i missed the right side bearing when we check the car out and that why i reimbursed her the 125.00 for her inconvenience not because she went to the BAR. she also went to another shop and they charge her more for the bearing then i did. but didn't charge her labor. maybe she knew them. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/03/07) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) First of all I still do not know what his name, because every time he answered the phone, he would answer differently *****, **** or ******. He is a bold face liar by saying, that I agreed not test drive it. First of all any good mechanic would test drive it, which HE DID NOT, second he tried to lie to me and tell me he took it on a test drive when I went back in on day 3. I know that he is upset that I have gone to the BAR, that I have taken the part to 8 other parts departments and everyone said, IT DID NOT NEED REPAIR. So he is now lying even more trying to get out of doing what is right. Why would anyone agree to not taking it out on a test drive that would be stupid. I went on the test drive with the other mechanic who fixed it at the other place. I sure as heck did not agree that the part he" repaired" made any noise WHAT SO EVER. Which is why I went to the BAR and they also checked the part and agreed with me. He "******" kept trying to make the part make a noise by twisting it in his hands, but it did not. I brought the part to the office in Santa Clarita for the BAR to look at it, they too tried to make it make a noise but they agreed with me that nothing was wrong with it. They are working on the investigation right now as should be done this week. He wasn't even there when the mechanics came back and put it up the rack to say the noise was coming from the back. He didn't even address that he was trying to sell me another bogus repair that is on the invoice as well. The "other" mechanic didn't charge me labor as he was trying to help me out, he is just a good person that is all. I am not satisfied with this response and once the BAR tells him the part was not bad maybe then he will do the right thing. I am only disputing the part not the tires. If he does the right thing and refund all the part and labor for the bad repair I will happily remove my review off his web site and everywhere else I have placed a bad review.

I went in to Big O Tires on 1/8 to get my tires checked out because it was leaking air. They did not have the my tires in stock and had to order them. They said I would have to purchase two new tires because I cant just buy one because the wear would be uneven once I rotated the tires. I had told them to replace my spare with the tire that was in best condition from the 2 I was getting replaced. I got the new tires on 1/11. A day later its still leaking air and they did not replace my spare. I took it back 1/22 telling them its still leaking air and they said they believed that air was leaking because the rim was damaged. They put a seal to keep it from leaking and said hopefully that works or I will have to replace the rim. Its still leaking and I complained as to why they had me purchase 2 new tires for $400 that I did not need. As professional, they should diagnosed my tires and know what was the reason for the leak. I asked to returned the tires for my old tires because they were in good condition (which they should have known). But they said no because they disposed them. Now I have to spend an additional $400 for a rim that I need since that was the cause of the air leaking. I believe they took advantage of the fact that I am a women and not to familiar with car maintenance to upsell and get more money off me.
