Awful, difficult to reach. Long hold time and then you get a foreign call center. They do not listen and keep repeating scripted responses even when the reply does not provide a resolution. They changed my original contract to exclude servicing faucets. So I wanted to see what else might be different and I requested a paper copy of my updated *************** told me to go online. I hadnt been in my online account in over a year and my password did not work. Customer Svc. was unable to fix it after a couple attempts they said someone from their IT **** would call me and they would email and mail my contract to my home. That was several months ago. Never got it! I submitted a more recent claim and again requested my written contract. Again They were going to email It and Im still waiting.so I went on to request a plumber because my toilet is giving off fumes that smell like a sewer after it is flushed. They have a lack on contractors and set me up with a contractor that is approximately an hour and a half away. The only day they service our area is on Tuesday which is a bad day for us. However after seeing they would not provide any alternatives or exceptions, I agreed to Tuesday. They scheduled us between 8a and 4p!!! There was only one other contractor for our area and they were unavailable! When I asked for the complaints ***** They said Id have file an appeal. They are shady and take no accountability for being unable to fulfill your contract.Review from Georgia M

Purchased First American Home Warranty, sales person said they had a basic & premium plan. I went with premium, it included Hvac. For everything to be included on Hvac, there was an additional charge. I paid for that to, in 2 years a few minor things needed attention. They took care of, towards the end of my policy, 6/23/2024 the Hvac stopped cooling, we live in ******* Ca are having 3 digit temperature. I explained it was an emergency, my husband will be 86 & myself 84 in November. Have some health issues. On the 24th of June *** Quality checked it, replaced Capacitor. Still not working, *** Quality said they would present them with what needed to be done. I called First American they said it was being reviewed & would let me know, again i mentioned how hot it was. Hadn't heard from them, so called again on 27th. They told me I would have to pay $5.000. I said I paid everything upfront that I was told, to cover even a new replacement. Everyone I talked to were very apologetic, but did nothing. We had no choice, we had a new one replaced on June 29th. On July 10, 2024 received an email saying, we're reviewing the findings from the contractor that diagnosed your problem. It would be 3 business days to review & then would update. Not true, I talked to *** Pro on the 25 of June, they said they submitted what needed to be done. And we're waiting. And when I called they said my cost would be $5.000 how could they give that figure without reviewing. my warranty expires 7/23/2024. ***********************Review from Todd B

I have a home warranty with First American Home Warranty covering three properties, yet they have consistently treated us with disregard. Recently, our tenant discovered a water leak in the wall of our master bathroom sink, so I filed a claim immediately. Despite being supposedly valued customers, it took over 24 hours for a contractor to show up for an active water leak that was destroying our drywall and cabinets.When the contractor finally arrived, he demanded $250 just to cut a hole in the cabinet for diagnosis. We explicitly denied this request, but he cut the hole anyway and then tried to extort both my tenant and wife for the unauthorized work. To add insult to injury, he left the job without even attempting to cap off the leak or turn off the water main, claiming he had other jobs to attend to.We spent over 3.5 hours on the phone with First American's customer service, even escalating to the regional manager, but were met with empty promises of a timely resolution. Left with no choice, we drove over 2 hours to turn off the water ourselves, forcing the tenant to leave the property. First American then informed us it would take 3-5 days to approve a new contractor since their original contractor refused to return without payment for the unauthorized hole.After 72 hours without water and a vacated home, we hired a qualified plumber who solved the problem in 3 hours. Now, First American is denying the claim, insisting we should have waited for their 3-5 day approval period, despite the house being uninhabitable.First American Home Warranty's design is a scam intended to deny claims and avoid fulfilling their contractual obligations. Their neglect and extortionate practices have left us with significant damages and an unresolved issue. Stay far away from this company; they are nothing but a fraudulent operation that preys on their customers.Review from Deepa M

Worst experience ever. Claim number ***********. They sent a useless contractor who does not know how to fix systems. On his recommendation we ended up installing ***************************************************************************************************************** 100 + temperature for more than 1 month now . When we asked the contractor to come check again he was so rude and started yelling on us and said he will not be able to come for 3 weeks. I asked First AM to let me call another person who knows geo thermal system they told me no for that, you have to use the same contractor ********** heating & air conditioning geothermal. If a person is talking super rudely to you and FirstAM expects to let that person in our house it is a big safety issue for us. I right away cancelled my contract with them. Highly not recommended to anyone. They do not validate there contractors before approving them. More worst there solution was to buy a 150$ portable AC for a 4000 Sq Feet house this is biggest joke I have seen till date.Review from Louis P

First American's only problem is the Contractors they assign to your claim. Some contractors Like *** Electronics are great) Fast friendly and Courteous. Others, say for instance, for your HVAC repairs can be good if they send out a really experienced Technician, and not some rookie. A lot of the problem is material, as with HVAC repairs, there are so many different parts that the trucks cannot carry them all and will have to order parts with a huge backlog and long lead time. I have had to go through a week or two without A/C and it has not pleasant, It *****, but we did get our A/C fixed good. Another time we got our Washer fixed and then the Dryer fixed. Thanks First American, just please make sure that you dispatch good Service Companies.Review from Antonio T

This company insured my home in ********** and now ensures my home in ********. Any issues I have had they have resolved within a week. The companies they hired to do the job have been quick to respond and quick to show up. The worker sent were very courteous, efficient, and pleasant. No complaints whatsoever.Review from James R

Worst warranty company. Only used them as the sellers when we purchased our home furnished a two year home warranty. Every service call we placed was a headache; from it taking Days for a contractor to be scheduled, to contractors not showing up on time, contractors riving just to identify a problem and then order parts taking weeks on weeks to receive an install. In our most recent service call related to an actively leaking kitchen closet service called dragged on for over two months, the first Director assigned took over a week to schedule an appointment to never be heard from again Ive had to fight with the warranty company to reassign the ticket to a different contractor included having to escalate to a manager, eventually reassigned the service order due to the repetitive issues with every service order we replaced on my most recent problem with the garage door opener not working and leaving my house unsecured. I went ahead and called the garage door repair company to have them fix the issue. And while they were fixing the issue, I called the warranty company to start a claim they denied , any type of reimbursement Im not being able to maintain the sign of my home. Following this latest incident, I canceled the service and just want to warn everyone of my experience with this company, which seems to be quite common with other customers
