      In August I went to the In-shape on ******************. ******* explaining that I had a free membership to the ************* via my health insurance but wanted to try out their club since they had amenities the ******** club lacked. I repeatedly made it known I did not want a contract in case I decided I didn't think it was worth the extra money. The employee assured me that I could cancel anytime I wished. All of the sign up was done on their computer. I have autism and asked for help getting signed up and the employee did the vast majority of it for me. Several days ago I asked to cancel my membership because that club is over crowded and getting a machine is often impossible. I was then informed I had been signed up for a year long contract against my wishes. The manager tried to tell me I must of known I signed up for an entire year and told me it would cost $125 to cancel my contract. I told him I never agreed to a contract and he shrugged and said that was what I signed up for. He asked if I wanted to continue with the cancellation and I asked him if they would charge me $125? He repeatedly danced around the question until I became angry and insisted he tell me whether or not they would charge me. His response? "Well, it is a thing." I was furious at this point and said, "It's a yes or no question!! Are you going to charge my debit card $125 to cancel my membership??" At that point he FINALLY said yes and I told him to stop the process because I refuse to pay this. I absolutely DID NOT agree to an annual contract. The employee who signed me up purposefully misguided me knowing FULL well I have a mental disability. In-Shape should be ashamed!! I want my membership cancelled without having to pay a hefty fee!! I never agreed to an annual contract and the employee who signed me up repeatedly assured me that I could cancel anytime I wanted. I feel as if I was targeted and taken advantage of. I have been on permanent disability for 23 years.

      February 2, 2022 I was charged $61.58, which is the correct monthly billing.March 2, 2022 I was charged $246.34 May 3, 2022 I was charged $276.92 August 2, 2022 I was charged $188.82 September 2, 2022 to May 2023 I was charged $95.96, which is the new monthly billing that was changed without my consent and I never signed anything agreeing to the new billing. It was fraudulently done by a sales representative.I've made several attempts to contact this business, other partner locations and the corporate office but the business refuses to undo the fraudulent changes done by a former sales representative.
