On May 3, 2022, Swirl authorized a refund in the amount of $54.57 to my debit card that never showed in my bank account. I followed up on two occasions to let them know the funds never made it to my account on May 12, 2022 and May 23, 2022. Swirl recommended I contact my bank to rectify the situation. I called my back sometime during end of May 2022 and first week of June 2022 and they confirmed the funds were not returned to me so I submitted a claim. On June 10, 2022, Swirl reached out to me that they were charged a chargeback fee in the amount of $69.57 from *********** I let them know I followed their recommendation to contact my bank who confirmed the refund never made it to my account. In the beginning of August 2022, I noticed my gift card to Swirl in the amount of $134.01 was deactivated and the funds were no longer available to use. I contacted Swirl via email about this issue on August 22, 2022 and August 28, 2022 with no response. I called the store and let management aware of the situation around August 30, 2022 and finally received an email from Swirl on Sept 1, 2022 stating they deactivated my gift card to cover the chargeback fee ($69.57) they were charged. This is retaliatory, wrong, and illegal to steal money from a customer. I contacted ********************** on Sept 1, 2022 and management told me they would look into it. I contacted the owner of the store on social media on Sept 1, 2022 and via email on Sept 2, 2022 with no response from her. I am reaching out to BBB so you can help rectify this situation. I simply want my gift card reinstated.
