On June 22 2019 I met a man named ************************* from Consumer Edge Travel Solutions. He said he is not a lawyer but works with ***************************************** for legal representation. ****** said he could help release me, my wife and father from an oppressive timeshare contract we had within a year, and cited a 100% success rate. He said we had a strong case based on our interview and because of our desperation we decided to hire him to help us. We paid about $9,500 for his "services." It turns out ************************* takes $8500 and the rest, $1,000 was sent as a payment to ************************************* to handle our case. ****** tricked us into thinking he was going to release us from a timeshare but ended up signing us up for a "complimentary" vacation package that really you PAY $8500 for. He made it seem like he will free you from your contract but instead he makes you sign another with HIS company. The law firm reached out a few times for more information but have yet to provide me with any details or confirmation in regards to my case. I understand COVID slowed things down but my calls do not get returned. My father and I both called ****** repeatedly, even in the last month, and he never returns our calls. I realize now that the law firm gets business from desperate people by working with ************************* who promises relief but only end up taking your money. ************************************* works with a shady character to drum up business and makes me realize the chances of this law firm actually getting a release from our timeshare is next to impossible. ****** makes you think you are hiring a lawyer you can count on, but he just passes your case off to M&N for a fee and made me take out a loan to pay for it all. I am still paying for my $8500 loan; the interest rate (which was advertised at being at 0% APR) is *****% and will cost me almost 15K, all for a "travel package." Why would I buy a travel package when I'm trying to get out of a time share?? He lied and he is a scam artist.

      Business response

We are sorry for any misunderstandings.  At the time of our meeting with this client, we didnt handle their particular timeshare, so we could not help them.  When we cant help a client with their timeshare issue we refer them to other companies who reportedly can. We really think that any issues with a separate company should be directed toward them.   The travel program they purchased from us is clearly laid out in the paperwork with zero fine print.  It is a great program and we are happy to show the client how to best use it. The numbers mentioned in the complaint are no quite right but regardless, we are sorry that the company we referred to you has not worked out.  We have reached out to the firm they used and they have another story.  Having said that, they will not reveal to us the issues they have with this client due to privacy concerns.  Since becoming aware of clients complaint we are sending them a letter to help them at no charge.  We are not contractually obligated to do so but in the spirit of customer service we are happy to help out.
