This business is a SCAM.They prescribe and charge you for medication that knowingly does not treat the specific problem your pet is experiencing. Thats to get you back in to pay for another appointment to have your pet treated The vet(?) speaks to you in a private room with your pet then takes your pet in back (?) and supposedly examines the pet. They then return with a bogus list of issues that your pet needs to be addressed in conjunction with the reason you brought your pet in for. These bogus lists contain items that, on the average, range from $850-$2500 !!!! They then intimidate you by saying if these issues aren't treated then they will continue to worsen. How do I know this? Because we couldn't get an appointment with our normal vet, (very popular) so called Castro Valley Animal Hospital and were Told to " Come on In"Initially they tried to charge us $847 for an inner ear yeast infection Then they demanded to start with an allergy shot which we agreed to yet never witnessed the shot being administered.Follow up appointment 4 days later to see if allergy shot had a positive effect yet they NEVER addressed that issue. They did issue another estimate in the amount of $1700 for issues not even listed on the prior appointment estimate. we objected, just wanted the 10 day oral medication for our pets ear infection ($70)We then got into our regular loved Vet establishment and were told this medication had nothing to do with curing an inner ear yeast infection. Our regular vet also stated all the issues on the Estimates from CVAH were not needed unless there were obvious signs of something wrong. They had also heard horror stories regarding CVAH This CASTRO VALLEY ANIMAL HOSPITAL is DECEITFUL They prey on our love that we have for our pets. The Alameda ************************* also bring in their Police Dogs to CVAH, have their own private room, get charged overpriced and Unnecessary charges because OUR TAXES PAY THEIR BILL !!!!

If I could give a 0 I would. I took my beloved 12 year old dog here to have a leg amputation after breaking his leg and it getting infected. I was more on the fence about ending his suffering because of his age but the Dr promised only 2% will get another infection. Low and behold, my dog gets an infection a week after surgery. I bring him back where they charge me another $300 to have some skin removed. I already didnt want to go forward because of the stress hes been put through. But I did it because if $300 more was going to mean I would have him in good health then I wanted to try. They did the surgery and told me to pick him up the next day, my husband picks him up. Then 3-4 days later hes infected again. I told them he ended up taking his cone off in the middle of the night and he messed with it. At this point I told them I needed to end his suffering. They bandaged him and on my way out the woman said hey did you not pick up the antibiotics the day you picked him up last? Actually, I can see you didnt I started shaking because this could have saved him. I tell the ***************** that its negligent he agrees tells me the dr is all about money. He said this isnt the first time this happened. Mind you. He slipped me a paper of better vets to go to next time. Well there wasnt a next time I brought my beloved dog to another vet to be euthanized, they did an exam before and tell me the vet I took him to did a horrible job because they shouldnt have left the bone in.. (his bone sticking out of the wound that they bandaged up and treated him like a science project. Now I look at the reviews and all I see is horrendous surgery malpractice. I spent a total of $3,500 that I put on CareCredit because I couldnt afford it already. Please help me. I dont want them doing this to someone else. Their slogan is animals are people too
