In February 2022 I ordered two couches from Lazboy and I paid half as down payment. I was told there was interest free financing available for 12 m. I visited Lazboy in July as I had not heard from them. My couches were ready two weeks later. I was told to pay the remaining balance. I said as I told you before I was going to use the 12 m free financing available. The ******** store begrudgingly sent me a link to financing. I was denied within 5 min and not sent a reason. I am upset and was told what do you want by the manager and was not provided a 12 m alternative. Instead I need to pick up by December and lose my 2 thousand deposit. This was a bait and switch tactic. I am requesting 12m financing as promised on their window.Business response

Consumer Response /* (-5, 8, 2022/08/31) */ I have not concluded my business with Lazboy. I put $2500.00 down and do not want to lose my deposit. The same company that turned me down for is now sending me applications. Consumer Response /* (-5, 9, 2022/08/31) */ The case has not concluded. I am still out $2500. Business Response /* (1000, 16, 2022/09/14) */ Customer placed her order on January 22, 2022, and made a $2,382.00 deposit. Customer was advised the balance must be paid prior to delivery. We apologize for any miscommunication. The customer is under the impression financing would be automatic once the product was ready for delivery. This is incorrect, the customer must apply for the financing. Customer was provided the link for the financing and was denied. At that time the store offered to refund the customers deposit. She stated she did not want to cancel but needed time to pay off the balance. The store agreed to work with her and hold the items at the warehouse as long as possible as long as she continued to make steady payments to the store. Customer advised she would make another payment by the end of July 2022, which did not occur. Financing is offered through a third party, Synchrony Financial Services. If Synchrony denies the customer's credit application, the stores does not have the authority to override the denial. The customer may pay off the balance and receive delivery of her furniture of receive a refund of her deposit. Thank you for contacting La-Z-Boy Incorporated. I've wasted 9 months waiting for the couches and now fighting to get my money back. Lazboy makes its money off the backs of its customers most people walk away from their deposit as the interest free financing is not applied for when you make your purchase.
