  Paid $1,800 to unclog a drain pipe by Drain *****************, ** in December of 2022. We see that they did did not unclog the entire pipe but only a section of it. They said they would come out again but for another charge. They should have completed the job correctly the first time for $1,800.

  *Drain Kings quoted $200 to rotor rooter my yard drain. *1/07/22, they said my 4" standard drain was too small for their rotors (this is a lie). *They quoted me $500 to have the drain hydrojetted & claimed it wasn't working. *They'd come back with a camera on 1/09 to check the blockage. *AM 1/09/22 I hear the sound of machinery in my yard & find they have demolished my concrete outside my backyard gate & tell me I need new pipe from the drain in the backyard to the street. They had dug up my front yard & plants as well. They started a job I did not authorize! I had received no price, no contract & no invoice. *The boss told me it will cost me $**** to do the entire job & that I have "no choice". I tell him I can't afford it. *I texted boss that night to tell him that I don't want the job done. I put signs on my gate & front door to ask them to not work. *I had texted the boss about doing the job from the gate to the end of my land instead & no cutting the sidewalk & asked for a price. I received no reply so I assumed no more work would be done. *AM, 1/10/22, they were working on the job AGAIN. He had laid 20' of pipe from the gate to the end of my land & told me that he'd just replace that, but the job was almost completed WITHOUT my permission! *I asked the boss why he did the job without permission, a price, or invoice, & a work agreement. *Later on 1/10/22, an invoice was sent via email for $****! I couldn't afford that esp for only 20' of pipe! The invoice date of 1/07/22 is FALSE! I called his office & said I can't afford it. *The boss come to my door & told me to "Pay up!" I told him I didn't have the money & he should have not started work without my permission, a contract signed or a plan. I told him I would send him a check for $**** that matched the price of other plumbers online. *The boss said he'd put a lien on my property & put me in collections. *On 1/18 he cashed my check & said he was filing a lien on my property & sending me to collections.

This has been sent back to client via USPS. Sending my check back doesn't resolve the criminality of Drain Kings' and the owner, Mr. ******'s conduct of forcing a job on me while I slept, breaking up my cement and digging up my yardALL without my permission, with no contract or price. They finished this crazy job quickly and then threatened me repeatedly that I had to pay the full price immediately or I would be sent to collections and a mechanics lien put on my property. This was an intentional scam on a senior woman. Further investigation showed that Drain Kings' owner, ***** ******, is on probation for a similar scam last year with the licensing board. Check his license: XXXXXXX and you'll see that public evidence with the Contractors State Licensing Board. Check these Yelp reviews among many 1-star reviews where they scammed older women: *** ** ********** ** 6/12/2019 Had Drain kings come out to my elder moms' house. They quoted $10K to fix the issue. Said it was old pipes that were clogged and needed to be replaced. Long story short, I had 3 other quotes done. All of them were under $200. Just needed a hydro flush which fixed our issue. They still wanted their $125 service fee for coming out and trying to stick us for 10 grand of unneeded repairs. ANOTHER SIMILAR YELP REVIEW: ****** ** *** ******** ** 1/21/2019 If you're an owner BEWARE of this company. I chose this company based on reviews and was beyond disappointed. You proport that you are a family owned business and put the customers first, however; you sure don't act like one. Let me begin that in all my years, and I'm old, I have never taken the time to write something negative about any company because I believe that everyone makes mistakes. However, THE DRAIN KING came for a simple plumbing issue and they were cordial and appeared up front to be honest and smart. ****, who was the supervisor of my job was a true scam artist. It ended up costing me thousands of dollars which once they started breaking walls and pipes, it was no turning back. I had two other companies tell me they overpriced the job and were skipping necessary work. I felt trapped and with no prior knowledge about plumbing I was helpless. __________ THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY TRIED TO DO TO ME! ***** ******/DRAIN KINGS is preying on the public and people need to be warned, especially seniors. I will not withdraw my complaint.
