Wags and Whiskers has had a troubled past but still remains open. I did not realize any of this until after the fact. I was interested in a dog they called Queso. I filled out an online application, was called right away by I believe a volunteer. I asked normal questions and got vague feedback. I requested to communicate with his ****** and she replied they do not use fosters (although their website says they do). I now am picturing this tiny senior in a kennel situation.I also noticed that they had 174 dogs with 23 of them being seniors all in a kennel situation. He is sweet, happy but stained all over his body from what I know from experience is a dilute bleach reacting with certain medicated shampoo. His eyes crusty and he is matted. He slept mostly on the drive home coughing a couple times. Then that first night he coughed all night long!!! I was sent incomplete vet records by them. It vaguely mentioned that he was treated for a cough about 2 weeks prior but no mention to me on picking him up. I got him to my vet immediately and what we found is that he has a significant heart murmur (not in his files). He has bronchitis which still requires antibiotics as his WBC is elevated and he tested positive for three different parasites! Tapeworm Roundworm and Giardia. I will wait on his grooming so he can heal.I need to mention that this rescue charges $375 for adoption. Compared to the groups that Ive grown to know and love: ********* (where I got Yuki) $250, Tails of Gray $200, Peace of Mind Rescue $155-$305 All of these groups provide the dogs with a ****** home, extensive vet care, grooming needs, proper diets and supplements BEFORE they are adopted out. After paying $375 I immediately needed to get him to the vet $710 start him on medication and repeat the ***** in 2 weeks $140 and a much needed grooming $85. I wasnt expecting or prepared for this from what they disclosed to me.Wags and Whiskers is a shelter NOT A RESCUE doing the bare minimum.

We filled out an application online said that we did not want no pit bulls and we looked at a dog and talked to the lady and she said that he was not pit bull and we get all the way from *************** ********** to ***** ********** which is a 5 to 6 But within the next month we knew that he was pit bull and we tried to return him they said we could return him but we could not get any money back I told him that he was pit bull and we did not want a pit bull and that he was biting our daughter and it's not just puppy bites he was biting her it's either shoot the dog get rid of the dog sell the dog something but the dog has to go I still refuse to do anything to this day I told him that only where they're going to get me to stop is either giving my money back or get a restraining order on me They say they do their best to tell what breed they are but after you adopt a dog at $650 they also will sell you ADN a test that will tell you exactly what breed the dog is He's not all pitbull no hes pitbull in lab
