      On July 18 I attended a class at Sweet Fitness kickboxing. I was responding to an add for a 7 day free trial. I went to the class and was exhausted afterwards. When I was leaving, the trainer pulled me and another person who was answering the ad to the side to talk about signing up for classes. The trainer did make it clear that it was a 12 month contract but there was no mention of a cancellation fee. I asked and she said there were no cancellation fees. September 2 I called to cancel. I received a text message in response to the voicemail I left stating that there was indeed a 250$ cancellation fee. I was shocked and told her that I was never told of a cancellation fee. She responded with a picture of the contract. When I was presented with this contract I was extremely tired making me vulnerable to manipulation. I feel that I was taken advantage of and given improper information before signing a contract. I do agree that I should have read the contract, yet I feel that opportunity was taken away by giving me something to sign after an hour long kickboxing class that left me exhausted. I feel I was induced into signing the contract because they waited until I was tired and heading out the door to mention a contract and give me a bunch of information extremely fast, as well as giving me misinformation. After the singing I left feeling very confused but knowing I could continue to go to the gym. I trusted the workers to know what they were selling me and be able to answer my questions with honesty. Sadly that was not the case at this establishment. I'm messaging the BBB in hopes that my fee can be waived. Thank you for your time.

      Hello,

      It is true that there is a cancellation fee, and it is in the contract that this person has signed. However, it is untrue that they were told there is no cancellation fee. Aside from it being in the membership contract, we would never tell someone there is no cancellation fee. We have over 700 members and would never need, not want to, lie to get one additional membership.

      I am rejecting this response because: I believe your business strategy partly relies on pushing contracts on people after they have been past exhaustion. Its not right to spring a bunch of new information on someone after they have been conditioned to do/trust whatever the trainer says and are exhausted. Your business charged my credit card before these maters where resolved. I canceled my membership with you guys and have not returned. We are now in the stage of dealing with this cancellation fee. I should not have been charged that. Personally id like for this to be over so if we can come to an agreement where you keep the 99$ and we bring this to an end id oblige. Other wise I will haft to take it up with my bank.
