I purchased a solar panel system that was placed on my roof in mid December. While installing the system box one of their workers sliced through a wire that connected our hot tub to the wall outlet. They did not notice and signed our system off to start working. This event happened on a Friday. The following Monday night we noticed a smell coming from our garage and we assumed it was our garbage that also needed to get taken to the curb that night. We were unable to open the garage door and upon further inspection we noticed we had no power coming to most of our garage. I called AES the next day and they mentioned they would have someone come out the following day. They came out and inspected and assumed it was our wall outlet. They claimed they went out frequently in old houses, but they agreed to replace it. They replaced it once and were still unable to get power to circulate through the garage. They replaced it a second time that day and seemed perplexed. The two workers continued to walk around the garage and began to walk outside to try to figure out the cause. When one of the workers went outside they cussed and called the other employee over and they realized the cord was sliced clean and was sitting in a pool of water, causing the house to short circuit. They apologized and rewired my hot tub. I called the company and let them know we had lost an entire standing freezer as well as an outside fridge full of food and asked for compensation. They agreed it was their fault and said they were going to speak to their upper management about compensation and have yet to get back to me. It has now been almost two months since they mentioned they would be deciding what they were willing to offer for compensation.
