Hello on 3/15/23 my vehicle was towed for not having a smog done and current registration, my family and I have hit hard times I became disabled in 2018 do to the camp fire we also lost our business and home so money sometimes most the time is tight. Our car was towed by Chuck Patterson at 4:45 that day, we were not able to get the money until 3/20/23 the bill at that time wise 638$ Chuck Patterson towing was rude demeaning and aggressive. I asked them at the time if they took Venmo cash app and Chase because unfortunately I had to borrow all the money from different sources so it was on three different cards They said yes they charge my card took the 500$ off my Venmo, but said it didnt go through that it was declined and then told us it was after five and they were closed and that the bill was now 100$ more for beheld another day, I called my Venmo when I got home and they gave me an invoice stating that Chuck Patterson had received the $500 from that card I called them Chuck patterson and informed them of this and they said to come by in the morning and talk to the manager the following morning the manager clearly stated that he was not going to look at my invoice and that he would have my car lien sale and gone by Friday. Hes very rude and was getting aggressive. On 3/23/23 I have an invoice stating that Chuck Patterson returned my $500 to my Venmo card I then called Chuck Patterson towing and was informed again that I owed $400 more for the days occurring since the time they had my full payment. This is criminal to take advantage of this type of situation. This tow yard is stealing our car and or extorting hundreds more dollars from us by manipulating the bank and there system to get more then there already inflated price. I feel they should wave the five hundred and occuring fees and only get the 138$ they kept that I paid them since they returned my money as a means of extortion.

Chuck Patterson Towing annually enters into a contract with local law enforcement and our rates are approved by CHP and consistent with other local tow companies. On 3-15-23 ******************************* vehicle was towed to our storage yard per a request from ***********************. ****************** and a woman came to our business on 3-20-23 and stated they only have $400.00 and that was all they will pay, at that point the total amount due was $638.00. They proceeded to try multiple credit cards with only one going through for $24.00 and they paid $100.00 in cash. The final card they tried to use had a Mastercard symbol on it and they asked us to run it for $500.00, after entering a PIN number the card immediately declined. ****************** insisted the charge went through but after verifying with our bank multiple times we were told this charge was declined, after learning the card was somehow linked to a Venmo account, I researched and learned that if a bankcard declines a charge it can still show up in Venmo as paid because ***** cannot override the transaction failure and it takes a few days or a call to their bank to resolve this issue of saying it was paid when it was really declined at the time of service. ****************** was very upset and belligerent and needed to be escorted off our property by **************************** that day. On 4-3-23 ****************** returned to our office and paid the charges in full and we released the vehicle to him at that time. This matter has been resolved.

12 days ago my car was stolen from my front yard in the Town of Chester California and was filed as a stolen car and proceeded to be a high speed pursuit down 32 towards Chico the officers from Chester had to call off the The Chase and then from there on I followed through maybe 20 minutes behind the stolen vehicle I left my phone number with the previous to contact me when the vehicle was found so I can retrieve it . As the evening went by I stick around to go waiting to hear for phone call after the night fell I didn't receive phone call so I went on looking for my car herself I called the CHP office of Chico they said yes that your car was found at and that it was now at chuck Parsons so immediately I called, is it a lady answered said it was there it was too late for me to retrieve it for me to call tomorrow so as soon as tomorrow came I headed back to Chico and arrived around 2:00 called and and got a gentleman on the phone saying that my car was going to be $900 to get out plus.

Our Company did receive a call from CHP to retrieve a stolen vehicle and responded which resulted in a tow bill because we charge for our services we provide. The Registered owner is responsible for the tow bill charges that are incurred plus any additional storage fees to retrieve their vehicle from our possession. The Registered owner can pay for these charges out of pocket or go through Insurance if they make a claim for the stolen vehicle but those charges are due and payable to us for services rendered at the request of CHP. The person making this complaint against us is not the registered owner of this vehicle and cannot even get the vehicle released to her because she does not legally own it. From what law enforcement has told us the person making this complaint was in the process of buying this vehicle from a private party and had no finished paying for it, She had not processed the DMV paperwork showing proof of ownership so therefore the CHP Officer informed us to not release any information to her or the vehicle because she is not the registered owner. The CHP officer will also inform her of that if she contacts him about this vehicle. Our company has a good reputation in the community and we follow the standard rules that govern the storage of vehicles which are meant to protect the registered owners of vehicles that come into our storage yard. Our prices for all Law Enforcement agency calls are also approved by CHP for the hourly rate we charge so this complaint has no merit whatsoever.
