This place is very unprofessional, my mother has been there for a little over a week and has been ignored and told to shut up and to stop complaining. My mother was asking to use the restroom and was told by Graciela to pee on her pad and to stop complaining. My mother was then given medication to fall asleep. This facility does not care for their patients, they are left unattended for hours and hours. None of the nurses are ever around when we go visit her and no one ever knows any information on patients. It's time that this facility is held accountable for their mistreatment.

This facility is approved to provide Medicare and Medicaid service. Unfortunately, its management ignores its real responsibility, but only chases having a title of '5-star SNF'. To do so, they provide little, if there is any, quality medical service, no sufficient physical/speech therapists, the requirement being a SNF. . My husband is a good example. He was sent there after 5 days hospital stay. After a few weeks stay, my husband's medical condition remained the same as his entering this facility, suffering from high blood pressure and hyperglycemia. I, however, received a short notice, indicating my husband will be discharged in three days. The Social Service Director, Julie Brady, simply inform me ,' he will be discharged in three days, or you can appeal'. I turned to the Administrator, Gary. I begged him to let my husband to stay a bit longer as that my husband's medical condition had no improvement at all. In his e-mail, he replied 'I reviewed his chart with the IDT and there is nothing that we do for him meets the criteria for 'skilled care' which is the requirement for Medical to continue paying'. Using the phone number Julie provided, I called the Medicare office to appeal my case. Two days later, Medicare office notified both me and the facility to let my husband to continue get the skilled care from Trellis. From that time on, they started providing speech therapy, the one listed on the requirement for the Skilled Nursing Facility. A week later, I got a call from Julie and inform me that my I husband will be discharged soon, and, at the end of the phone call, added 'you can appeal again, if Medicare office let you stay, we love to let him to stay'. With an attempt to discuss my husband's condition and find out the tentative date to discharge, I emailed Gary and called Julie several times, no reply from either person. Tired from this non-professional treatment, I, with the help of Bristol Hospice, brought my husband home before being 'kicking out'. My husband's medical condition had no improvement within the time in this facility. The reason has been stated in several reviews in this platform: the Physician did not do his due diligence. I have tried to reach him by leaving messages via nurses and called, but no reply. Not to reply phone calls or e-mails to patients and their family members seems being this facility's culture!!!! My husband has hyperglycemia. I called kitchen and person in charge of nutrition, and requested not to give him juice and carbon food in the breakfast, but an boiled egg. this simple request had never fulfilled until he left the facility.
