We experienced flooding in our below grade downstairs bedrooms, den, laundry room, workshop and darkroom as a result of heavy rain. My daughter called the fire department who then called my insurance co. ********, who dispatched Service Masters to come and remove the water from the house. Two men, a truck and a pump arrived promptly and spent a number of hours pumping out water from most rooms. I was never given a cost estimate, only told that I'd be okay, that the insurance would pay for it. I told them my misgivings on three separate occasions since I did NOT have flood insurance. I initially received a bill for $13,000 plus for their services. When I asked for specifics it became evident that they over charged me because of mathematical errors. They were to send ***** out to remeasure. ***** called, and we agreed on a Monday morning appt. at 10:00 am, but ***** never showed. I got a bill for $5,000 plus, but no invoice. I called and requested an invoice for specifics on how they had arrived at this figure. When it arrived I was dumbfounded at the information provided. It was clearly incorrect. For instance, they charged me for bathroom flooding and carpet removal. I've never had carpeting in my bathroom. Then I began to look at some of the measurements of the rooms. They are not the same size. I have one hallway, not three. My master bedroom did not flood because it is three inches higher than the rest of the floor. However, the pathway became wet from foot traffic in and out of the house. I can prove that because I took pictures of a dry carpet in the clothes closet and the underbed carpet that was left. I owe them money because they did a job, however inefficiently, but I don't want to jeopardize my good credit rating due to the inability to communicate justly with Service Master in this situation. And that is why I am contacting you.Business response

We are sorry to hear about your experience, but in searching our jobs database I couldn't find any recent jobs with your name or address. Please send us a copy of the signed work authorization you would have been provided to help us locate this job. We have no employees named "Manny" either. Please keep in mind that there are over ***** indivdually owned and operated franchisees under the Servicemaster Brand name. If you just searched in the BBB website for "Servicemaster" there would have been multipole choices and I think you chose the wrong Servicemaster to file your complaint on as we have no access or control over other Servicemaster franchisees. Double check the name of the company you hired as our company name is Nextgen Associates, **** and our dba name is Servicemaster Restoration by EMT. If the work authorization you signed is not EXACTLY that business name then it is not our company that you hired.
