Altadena's milk is spoiling before the date. This has been happening on a regular basis, both with 1/2 gal.nonfat milk, and the 1 gallon non fat milk. We buy the name brand so we are assured that we are getting fresh milk. But it is smelling sour with still 1/3 of the milk unusable. This has happened too many times, and I am 78 years old and cannot just go and return the milk to the store (*******, ********). That is why we buy the Altadena brand. This is a waste of money. To pay almost $ 5.00 for milk that turns sour well before the date. I believe that Altadena is not only price gouging, but are selling spoiled milk, taking advantage of the elderly who cannot return the milk right then. In my opinion, the Low income elderly are being exploited by these companies. The elderly are not able to return spoiled items to the store as easily as some others. No more Altadena.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 15, 2022/02/28) */ Hello, We did not receive the original dispute notice of this consumer complaint. However, we did speak to the consumer on 1/6/2022. Unfortunately the reimbursement check we had offered ($15) was not mailed due to an internal error. We have since spoken to the consumer on 2/25/22. We apologized for the experience and offered a $35 check which she accepted. We did confirm her name and address to be correct and explained the check would arrive within 7-10 business days. We then thanked each other and ended the call. This consumer complaint is now resolved. Consumer Response /* (3000, 17, 2022/03/07) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) We were promised a $ ***** check and coupons that we have yet to receive. ***** and ****** ********* Business Response /* (4000, 21, 2022/03/22) */ Hello, We spoke to ***** on 3/21. She advised our team that everything was fine and there was no need to contact her back. To confirm, on 2/25, the consumer did also request coupons, but we explained at the time that ********** restricts dairy coupons to be mailed to their residents. The consumer understood and we had offered a $35 check which was accepted. The consumer complaint remains resolved, but please let us know if there is anything else we can do to assist.
