I purchased a model HD-8018 eastern king size bed through a local furniture store that sold Homey Design furniture. I complained to the local furniture store that the bed dimensions are not correct. I was told to contact the manufacturer which we did and they turned me away and said that they do not deal with the public only to furniture stores. We got nowhere for over a year trying to get the furniture store to talk convince Homey Design of the problem. I have tried to call and talk to the owners but they refuse to return my calls. My king size mattress is a standard size 76x80 and 14 inches in height. However the bed because of a leather backing that protrudes out only is 78 inches in length, NOT 80! So when the mattress is in there it is stuffed and it is very hard to even change the sheets. We recently purchased a new mattress with an adjustable base and it will not work because of the wrong dimensions of the bed. It will not raise up past the leather backing unless you force it to. I have send photos and videos to the furniture store which they in turn sent to Homey Design. They have not acknowledged that there is an issue and have said they have had no complaints. HOWEVER they have changed how the bed is made now and it is made at another plant then mine, and the sales manager from Homey said that it was changed because they knew it was an issue. So now they are offering to send me California King ***** to make the bed longer which would fix the problem however they said because they are made at a different plant now they cannot guarantee they will work and in addition to that want to charge me $800 for them. I have already paid $8,320 for this bedroom set and now they want to charge me more money to fix a MANUFACTURING DEFECT! They refuse to stand behind their product! They should send these at NO COST to fix THEIR problem! Now they are telling me that it is past their return policy so they have to charge me. NONSENSE!
