I called for a pick up (green waste) that was missed. I spoke with ****** in the call center. She asked a lot of questions: Did I have it out the night before? Did I have it out before Seven? Was it overflowing? I answered, NO, Yes, No. I was told they had until 6pm to do it - it was about 3:30p. I said Thank you. The next day - still full. I called about 1:30p to check on it. I was told that I didnt have my can out by 7. I asked how could they know that? She said they have cameras on the trucks. Ok, I thought it was. I thought it was missed. Here is the issue She said the order was closed after they saw my can wasnt out. I did not receive a call or email to explain this nor did they come empty the can. I said regardless - I asked for it to be emptied. She didnt explain anything. I didnt know that their process was to review the request first, to review cameras first. She made it sound as if they were coming by 6pm. I said, I asked for it to be emptied regardless of your findings, why is it not being picked up? Is that not a service? She said I can schedule it now for you. She then came back and says it will be $27.00 and it would be Monday ( in 3 days). I got very upset and said to cancel it. I asked for a survey to report this call/service and I was told they (Athens dont do that - no wonder) I report this here because I can not find any other way to officially reach a complaint compartment. I report this for you to see where you are falling short in customer service. She could have said they were going to review my request first. She could have explained that an extra pick up isnt offered as a service. She should have said there was a charge first before leaving me on hold to set something up. She could have been less condescending. Unfortunately I have no choice but to have your company or I would not. Ever since they took over our area, there is trash regularly on the streets and in bushes along the curb due to the truck system used.

I have small apartment building in this company's fiefdom. When they were awarded this contract, my bill tripled. I now pay $500+ a month.1. When establishing trash, I was never informed that I had an option to have 1xweek or 2x week service. Naturally, I'd been billed for 2x week pickup. Tried getting that refunded. No.2. Informed that green compostibles now must part of pick up service as of 2024. It is now March and no pick up has occured. An agent assured me twice she would come with brochures and compost bins for each unit to explain what goes in the green bin. She no showed twice.3. I am being charged each month $150 for gate opening...which they have not done in years as my manager leaves it open on pick up days. It is still not refunded, but I am warned to pay my bill in full or face penalties.

Athens came to ****** ** and tripled my trash price. They are a monopoly because no other company can operate in ****** besides them. They wont give me a comparable price to my prior provider. It almost feel like they are turning into a Communist party since its their way and you cant cancel or get a competitive rate from someone else. Stay away from them if you can they wont even accept payment plans or give you aid for small struggling businesses.

They hit my car with their dumpster and would not admit to it!

I, just received my bill from ATHENS SERVICES with an increase from $ ****** to $ ****** claiming this is going to be my new monthly bill, that is over 100% increase this is wrongful, unfair, an abuse to the ****** citizens, so now they have an agreement with the ************** to continue this practice, with no control in what they will be charging, whatever they want!... for the next 10 years... this is a monopoly, no other company to provide service, no choices for the people, no competition for Athens... this is getting bad people!.

The ********************* selected Athens Services to handle the pickup of residents' trash bins. Each homeowner gets a monthly bill to pay for this service. When our green bin (compost) was not picked up, we contacted them immediately the next morning and asked for it to be picked up. We were told to leave the bin out. No pick up occurred. We called Athens again, and THEN they told us the supervisor said it was our problem since we had not left the green bin out on trash pick up day! (No proof was offered for that statement!) Athens said the supervisor would make the determination if the they would come by and pick up the missed bin. The bin was still not picked up, and we're assuming Athens thinks it is our fault and not the fault of the driver who picks up the trash. We are also assuming Athens thinks we are lying about having the bin out on trash pick up day before the truck came by. (The green bin was placed on the curb the evening BEFORE pick up day!) If we could dump this service we would, but we're held captive because they have the contract with the city. The ******************* (where we used to live) does a way better job of handling this type of issue than Athens Services.
