Oh goodness! The Upland location needs to have a new staff! Ditto with what the other review advises-if you don’t read all of this-please choose a different funeral home for contracts/arrangements! We were appalled by the service rendered to us when our Father passed away. We originally purchased their cremation plan about 4 years before we needed it. The salesperson no longer worked for this establishment, and we were yelled at by Claudia-the only one in charge-as to how we got this contract and why did we get this contract incorrectly? Ok-Excuse me? We came in and obtained this contract from such and such salesperson, we didn’t get anything incorrectly. Ok-now first of all, why would anyone yell at us for coming in at our appointed time to review our Father’s burial contract-which obviously indicates our Father just passed away and to be told we did this wrong?! Where was the compassion they advertised?! After a different Staff member came out of the office after Claudia decided to leave us in a huff, we were informed the contract we purchased was done incorrectly. Ok-second, how would we know a contract was completed incorrectly by their own salesperson?! Third-why are we being held responsible for their salesperson’s/staff member’s mistake(s)?! Once THEY calmed down and decided to treat us as grieving family members, which took approximately 45 minutes, and still without compassion, they told us the things they take care of and that everything was handled. Folks, seriously, we are still having problems communicating with Claudia-the only person in charge-as she does not answer our phone calls and requests to get back to us-since August 8, 2021-and here it is November 3, 2021 and the issue of our Father’s Death Certificate is still not handled correctly! They goofed our Father’s name on the Death Certificate form-by transposing his first and last names and included a spouse’s first name-which there is none and to this day, it is NOT rectified. We have contacted this Upland Office several times, without satisfactory results! Because the Death Certificate had not been updated and not available for us to purchase to send to the necessary and required entities. We have contacted the State Office to clarify the hold up of rectifying the incorrect first and last names on our Father’s Death Certificate, etc., and the State continues to wait for the doctor’s signature for the amended Death Certificate, per our call today with their office. Claudia-the only one in charge-could not tell us as to when she sent the amended Death Certificate form to the State (her words) and after contacting the County office (where you purchase the Death Certificates) 4 times, based on the info they gave us-we contacted the State Office and verified they are still waiting for the Doctor’s Signature on the amended Death Certificate! This Upland office has not completed very many things they advised they would do, for example, they did not contact the Social Security Office to advise of our Father’s death to at least put a hold on his Soc security payments until my wife contacted Soc Sec 1 month later and was advised they had not received any contact from Inland Memorial regarding our Father’s death. Same with the VA, until my wife contacted them-granted nothing can be completed until the Death Certificate is sent to these entities to stop the benefits, but again this is part of what they are to handle. As we have apparently done their job-accept to get the necessary paperwork completed to correct their error-which they haven’t done yet-I’d recommend contacting different funeral homes, etc., as you too may be doing their jobs. Thank you for your time-we really don’t want anyone else going through this grief and additional heartache on top of all the other ‘things’ you go through when a family member passes away.
