Selah installed our new roof for condo building in December 2020 for $19,250. On 12/29/21, I noticed a substantial leak in my living room ceiling. I called Selah on that same day to report the problem. ****** at Selah suggested I "poke a hole" in the ceiling to relieve some of the water that was building up in the meantime; about 6 inches of water came out and filled a small waste basket. Selah did send someone within a day to come out and assess the problem with our roof but were unable to make any repairs because of the weather. I followed up the next week about whether the issue and also confirmed with ****** at Selah that they'd be fixing the ceiling in my unit since we are still under warranty. They sent someone out a week later to fix the roof but have did not repair my ceiling at that time. I followed up several times about fixing the ceiling damage and they agreed to send someone out on 1/24/22. That someone was ***********************, president. I met with **** in person and on that day, he informed me the reason for the ceiling leak in my unit is because the area around the t-top on roof had not been properly sealed. I asked if this had been resolved or if the leak would happen again the next time it rains and he assured me the issue had been resolved and no, the leak wouldn't occur next time it rains. He went on to say he'd follow up with me about getting the ceiling drywall repaired and check for mold. I have not heard from anyone at Selah since that conversation with ****. On 2/4/22 I had my partner call **** directly and follow up with about the damage. Per their conversation on 2/4/22, **** and Selah Roofing are no longer taking responsibility for the water damage to my ceiling that occurred on 12/29/21. On that call, **** changed his story and suggested my ceiling leak and damage was not a result of Selah's roof replacement work or improper sealing of the t-top vent but from wind blowing rain water through the t-top vent.

Nothing about Selah's response is accurate. A copy of our contract is attached. I believe the only reason they're replying to the BBB complaint now is because I reported them to the California Contractors ********************

When I first complained to Selah about the leak coming through my ceiling in Febuary 2022, they told me the area around our t-top vent hadn't been properly sealed and that they corrected this issue and it wouldn't happen again. They also said they would repair the drywall that had been damaged inside my unit as a result of this leak. They never did repair the drywall and refused to take responsibility for it after several calls and follow **** Now, in their reply to BBB they're saying rain water blowing through the t-top vent is to blame. This does not make sense as I never had a leak in my unit prior to Selah doing their work to our roof.

Whenever rainwater pools on top of our (flat) roof, I get several inches of water pouring through my ceiling and have several thousands of dollars in damage to inside dry wall. I can fill a bucket from the water that leaks through my ceiling anytime it rains more than a couple inches. Again, I must reiterate this was NEVER an issue prior to Selah doing their work to our roof.

We didnt tear off the existing roof. The contract states for Selah to only apply silicone to the existing roof. We applied silicone over the existing roof. Unfortunately, the existing t-tops was allowing water to enter during wind driven rain. T-top had to be adjusted twice by bending the corners. At no point did Selah Roofing replace any T-tops.

we sent out a crew member to repair the t-top and added more silicone around the t-top. Today is 1/5/2023 and with recent heavy rains we have not received any calls or emails from the customer with leak issues.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I can't accept this resolution because it isn't a resolution. I'm surprised to hear they sent someone out to do a repair as the business never confirmed or scheduled this visit with me. I know they may have dropped by unannounced in November only because my neighbor mentioned seeing someone on our roof, but I am unsure what they did during this visit. When I followed up with them via email to confirm if they had stopped by for this repair, they never replied.

I have not seen any leaking inside my unit recently; however, they still need to repair the ceiling drywall inside the unit. See attached files for photos of original damage in December 2021 and new damage in November 2022. I paid out of pocket to repair the damaged drywall from the extensive leak that occurred in December 2021 & January 2022. This leak happened again in November 2022 and I am not covering the cost to repair the drywall again nor will I accept liability for the costs I covered earlier this year; that remains to be determined by the **** or in litigation.

Additionally, our *** is now aware of these issues and the claims we have against Selah via the BBB and the ****. The *** wants Selah to do the following in order to resolve this claim:
      1. Confirm and verify they completed the work as outlined in our contract for the job in December 2020.
      2. Share photos of the completed roof work from December 2020 (which we never received after requesting)
      3. Confirm Selah is still honoring the 10 year warranty listed on our contract for any future leaks including repairing drywall damage inside units.
      4. Repair the drywall in ceiling inside Unit 5 (see attached photos for damage)

We have been out twice to seal all seams above her unit and it continues to leak. There is a 7 Round T top above the area that leaks that does not lay straight and may be allowing water in when there is wind driven rain. We ONLY coated the existing roof with silicone. No pipe flashings were replaced. We will be opening up her ceiling next week, weather allowing and inspect where it is coming in from.

We'll, on the second day of working, they hit my gate. Causing damage to the fence, gate, electrical components to gate, Google nest doorbell. After they took the roof off, they waited 5 days to start working on the roof replacement after removal (good thing it's rainy season). Wouldn't tell me when they were coming back etc. the day before the inspection, the owner came out with some welder telling me how they were going to fix it. I had 4 quotes all say it needed to be replaced. The guy refused to provide his insurance information, so here I am. Contract states their insurance is required, as I edited this section in negotiations.
