We were leaving town for 3 days* and a friend said my wife ******* should see a Dr. * as she had a cough for almost 2 months* and thought it might be bronchitis. Her Dr at Adventist Health couldn't see her till the following week* so I called local urgent care providers* Tarichi Primary said they could get her in at **** on May 11th* I asked if they took *********** and she said they did. My wife went up* paid the deductible* had blood drawn* and prescribed a couple things. She called on the 20th cuz the prescription wasn't working* and they prescribed a couple different things. On May 25th* she went back for the results. We got a statement from ********** last week saying they weren't going to cover the May 11th appt* cuz the Dr was a non-participating provider. Today we went to Tarichi Primary* to ask why we got this denial letter* after being told they accepted **********. The Billing Manager said the girl taking our call was new* and was confused. Thanks to TARICHI'S s**** up* im on the line for the $188. first visit* plus in the coming days* I'll probably getting 2 more denial letters* because of the following 2 visits.Business response

We are not an urgent care and never stated or implied as such, but we do take *********** The insurance you have is Blue Shield of California, which is not the same insurance and we are not contracted with them. ********** Blue Shield is the parent company and they are multiple insurance companies under them. We have no way of knowing which insurance plan the patient has just from the insurance card, meaning it is patient responsibility to know whether or not we are in-network. The individual is always responsible for knowing where their insurance is accepted, which you can do by calling your insurance company or going on their website to look up if our business is in-network. Also, we have all new patients sign our financial agreement, which states we bill insurances on behalf of the patient as a courtesy but all claim disputes and denials are between the patient and their insurance company. It also states in the center of the page, in bold, "you are directly responsible, to Tarichi Primary Care, for your account balance" as well as any charges denied by insurance are your responsibility, and you are responsible for calling your insurance company concerning denials. I have attached the Financial Policy signed by *************** We are still more then open to having you as a patient but with your insurance plan, it will just have to be cash pay for visits unless your insurance changes to one that is in network.
