Thank you for making us aware of your dissatisfaction in our service. We apologize.
When ************** arrived your furnace was not malfunctioning, it fired right up for heating. He checked circuit board voltage and found the board was getting the correct voltage and found it was not malfunctioning at that time, it may have had an intermittent issue which cannot be troubleshooted if the furnace is operating correctly at that time. So he made his recommendations based on your description of symptoms. He checked the flame sensor and found it was not getting steady continuity and checked the blower capacitor and found it slightly low on micro ferrats, which matched your description of issues. After disclosing that the furnace fired right up and was functioning properly at that time he made a few recommendations for repair and potential replacement of the whole unit. Also, based on the fact that your unit is 31 years old and parts are hard to get.
You have stated the 2nd technician said your unit looked great and was super clean. We have pictures of the unit showing that the unit is in fair condition, old (31 yo) and dirty. We could not find a way to attach the pictures. Let us know if you would like a copy of them
If you were still having issues after we left we would have been happy to come back out at no charge. (The $99 is a diagnostic fee, to help cover labor and gas.) The estimate the tech gave of $20000 was for two complete HVAC systems, not just your furnace. That is 2 ACs, 2 Furnaces and 2 evap coils, including code upgrades, all materials to make sure it would meet city code inspection.
There is a good chance when you recieved the 2nd opinion, the furnace was malfunctioning and he was able to get an accurate diagnosis. Again, if you had called us back, we would have been happy to re-diagnose your furnace. Our goal is to be a World Class *****************. We are sorry we were not able to provide that for you.
